To have an induction ?

I'm 40 weeks 6 days pregnant now (almost 7 days - after midnight), yes, still pregnant, I haven't been having my baby for the last two days, just getting my internet fixed :(

My midwife said if I don't go into labour by tomorrow morning, she'll come over and discuss when I'll be getting an induction etc...

Basically, for those of you who have already had an induction, what is it like ? What happens ?

hi, i was induced with my LO. my waters had broke but i didnt go into labour. I was admitted to a ward, checked to see what my cervix was like, given 2 pessarys, one when i got there and one the following morning. that got me to about 3cm therefore was taken to labour ward, given a drip that speeds up contractions. they come thick and fast from there on in. I laboured for about 5 hours on the drip, pushed for just under 2 hours and out came my gorgeous 9lb 4 bundle of joy. Thats it in a nutshell. Looking back I thought it was a good experience really but not so at the time. I had gas and air and one injection of diamorphine that was it. If u want some more details, heres the link to my birth story : http://www.pregnancyforum.co.uk/birth-announcements/168434-zak-allen-24-12-10-a.html

Hope that helps and good luck !! all the pain is soooo worth it ! and u forget it i promise !!! xxx
