Hey ladies,

Had my first fertility appt today with the registrar (that's what they called her) who is one below the main man. Apparently he doesnt do first appts.

She was so sweet and went through the usual questions with me and looked at all my tests and said she doesnt think there is anything wrong in her experience and I'll be in the labour ward before I know it. She said it all in a nice way though -as if to make me feel positive and not worry.

She then tried to book me a second appt for follow up after my next lot of bloods and the booking lady just said to call one I'd had my day 3 done and re do m day 21 (which were normal first time) I think she said if they come back ok then they wouldn't do clomid for normal ov. The other lady briefly mentioned hsg.

So long story but I just wondered if that's what happened at other appts. It's great they didn't seem worried as has put me at ease but seemed all quite relaxed. Maybe that's a good thing :)

I guess I need to get these bloods done and take it from there xx

Hi hun, glad it was a nice lady and she was positive. At my first appt they talked over our results and said all was ok then said I was on a waiting list for an HSG. They also said that I wouldn't need clomid as I ov naturally. I've asked a few times if they are 100% sure I don't need clomid and they assured me it's not necessary. Hope the lady is right and you'll be on the labour ward in no time xxx

Hey, all sounds positive then. I was straight on tho clomid but I dont ovulate at all so different process to follow. As Kay Kay says the HSG would be next in line. Dint worry abot ut either its bearable and all in persuit of a healthy bean! Good Luck!

hi,
yes they done the same with me, plus oh semen test and i had a hsg.
they did put me on clomid, even though i do ov and have reg periods but because of my age i think (im now 38) and my nhormone levels are on the decline! and said may not work but may just gigve my body a boost!
good luck xx

Thanks ladies so all sounds pretty standard then. So what happens after all the tests - do they out you on an ivf waiting list xx

Hi chick, yep once you have the hsg you will most likely be put on a waiting list for iui first then ivf if that doesn't work. I see you're in hampshire, there are a few girls on the forum from down that way I'm sure the waiting times aren't that long. Not as long as the wait me and laura have  Good luck and you never know it may never come to that, think positive xxx

Thanks Kay :) well my initial appt only seemed to take just over a month so does seem quite quick. Fingers crossed for us all xx
