So I had my first midwife appointment yesterday, which went well, apart from I hate needles so when she was taking the blood samples I was almost in tears. Then I went to do a urine sample and whilst I was in the loo, I got a sharp pain near my right hip, so I mentioned it to the midwife when I got back in the room. She said it could be just a 'growing pregnancy pain'.
Anyway got home and the pain near my hip increased and then it died down, so decided that I'd probably got wind, but by 7pm, I was in so much pain, off I went to A&E. A&E decided that they would take more blood, the first time at the doctors wasn't good, so you can imagine how I was when I had to have them taken again, they also wanted a urine sample too. The A&E department then decided that I might need to stay in over night and they phoned the labour ward, I think, I wasn't really listening at that point, too busy thinking about having to stay over night. A&E reckoned I had a urine infection. So off I went to the labour ward, and I saw yet another doctor who prodded and poked, asked me for another urine sample. Then she did an internal examination(I hated it all the way). They suspected an ectopic pregnancy at first, but after my internal, she said that she thinks the baby is in the right place. So I asked about my urine infection and she said she couldn't find anything in the sample I gave her, but its gone off for testing and my doctors should get the results if anything is found.
So, they then decided that I could go home, but I have to go back today for a scan to make absolutely sure that it's not an ectopic pregnancy.
The only problem is, I'm still in a heap of pain and I don't have paracetamol at home, so might have to wait until I go to hospital to get something for it. Just for information, my bowel and waterworks are normal as far as I am aware. Oh and I'm 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant.
Any ideas? I really don't think the hospital have a clue to be honest.
