Well ladies I went on my Labour day with OH on Saturday, Early I know but they get booked up so quickyl!!!!!

I dont know whether I am more scared now!!!! They shown me all the different types of delivery! Forceps etc and I dont think I have slept properly all weekend, I woke last night in a hot sweat and my OH was really worried I had to get in the shower, I cant remember dreaming of anything I just know I had to take my bottom sheet off!!!! Has anyone suffered from this in the night?? I even missed my 287 week appointment this morning my head is all over and feeling so down in the dumps like my OH doesnt love me anymore!!

Back to the labour ward!!! Looks very much like a hospital, but not as bad as I thought the rooms were very clinical but still had birthing ball and chair along with TV and Radio!!!! I am just scared now, when I come out I was like cant it just happen now! I think it really open my OH's eyes!! :D

Sorry about the long post but had to tell other ladies that understand thanks girls

Mrs B its just a weird feeling because its like god next time I will be here I might be in labour!!! I just went dizzy with it all because I dont like hospitals very much and neither does OH so he doesnt help!! Just think me and you will be so close and getting tips on how to get the labour started I bet soon!!!

Yeah it was ok, i had the start of a rotten cold though so felt a bit faint and sick!

The hospital is quite a big one so they have a few different maternity wards. The Delivery suite rooms wasn't as scary as i thought. They have a birthing pool and attached room which was nice, more hotel like in the room with a double bed, fridge and stuff and the pool room next door was nice. I'm thinking of going for the pool birth if all stays ok.

They also have some other rooms on another floor which are less medical feel to them than the delivery suite rooms but they were all in use so didn't get to see them but apparently a bit like the birth pool attached room.

Definitely had that feeling of next time im here im going to be in labour aswell and felt a bit freaked out. It's all become so close now eeekkk!!

Its good to think it all through though, as the more you think about it, the better it gets, as becomes clearer in your mind and you get rid of the demons (hope that makes sense)!

I guess I was lucky as my hospital surprised me - they had the most wonderful MW led unit with low lighting, candles, and pastel coloured rooms with no beds, just balls, yoga mats and one room with a pool! I was so excited after my visit and started planning how the birth would be........I even arranged for my reflexologist to come and give me a treatment if I wasnt in labour at some ungodly hour! Because I felt in control of my decisions I actually felt very confident about the birth and started to get excited!

Obviously that all went out of the window and now I get to see the inside of an operating theatre in a few days, but am still trying to remain positive, as what ever labour we have - we get the biggest ever reward at the end!! :D

My hospital you see is very clinical plain white rooms like you can imagine a bed and all the machines!!! :(

There is one birth pool so I pressume whoever is in labour first :rotfl:

I will just have to take some time out to relax and start planning this birth rather than crying about it

xx

Your night sweats are probably cos you've gotten anxious and it's on your mind. I get them too if I'm a bit worried about something.

Hopefully seeing the ward will help you to prepare for what's to come. I'm a bit annoyed as I recently found out that neither hospital in my trust offers tours - and the antenatal classes are held in the other hospital too, not the one I'm going to.

Was really looking forward to having a bit of a nosey round, I'm always so much more relaxed when I feel informed :(

Well thats a bit rubbish isnt it that they dont offer them!! Like you said its nice to know what to expect even if I do feel a little upset!!!

I am anxious lately about alot of things so I reckon the night sweats are down to all my worries :(

So will you not even be able to have a little look at the hospital hun

When your actually in labour, you wont really care where you are! You will just be relieved that your in a safe environment with your partner and with bubs on the way, and that you know you will be in safe hands during the delivery. Believe it or not, you will probably take some comfort from the environment and know that there are professionals looking out for you. Good luck and try not to worry. Once your in the delivery room with all your bits and bobs, you will feel much better and will be really looking forward to seeing your baby.
