So, after struggling with the pain of LO suckin on my boob, giving him formula to get him fed, bailing on breastfeeding altogether and going to expressing with formula top-ups...

Sitting here having a bit of skin-to-skin, and Cay's just latched himself on and helped himself! No pain at all!

See, now it feels good. Now I actually get the sense of providing for my son, whereas before it hurt so bad I couldn't see the point of it.

Maybe all the pumping has prepared my breast tissue for sucking? I don't know... But yay!

This is what I want to happen. I'm doing what you used to do. How old was he when he just latched on? Is there anything you do now to encourage him? My one latches in but it's so painful, I don't know what to do. I'm spending my day mix feeding by expressing, occasional bf and formula top ups!

I had no idea what that was until I just googled it so no she hasn't been tested for it i guess. Who can test that? The HV or would I need to go to the go?
