I have just read your post....a bit late i know but just wanted to tell you that the same thing happened to me last cycle, ended up being 53 days long when normally i am 33. I had done ov test and got a positive on cd 24 but this meant that my luteal phase would have been 28 days long. I went to the Drs who told me that it was very unusual to have such a long LP especially when they had always been 14 days previously so she thought that it was more likely that for some reason i had a surge of lh but ovulation probably didn't actually happen then, she thinks i probably ov'd much later. The dr did some blood tests to check my hormone levels and thankfully they were all normal so it might just be that ov was delayed last month for some reason.(my body playing horrible tricks on me!) This sounds like what might be happening to you. I would definately have a chat with your doctor, at least having the blood tests put my mind at ease a bit coz i had become convinced that there was something wrong. This month i'm gonna carry on with the opk's even though i've got a positive today just incase i don't actually ov and get another surge later. Do you chart your temps?? Dr said this would be a very good idea but i've not been able to do it regularly this cycle due to weird shifts at work but am gonna try again next month ( if i have to.....still hoping for a bfp!)
Anyway sorry for rambling on, just thought it might help to know it's happened to someone else.
