I wonder if anyone else has experienced this because I'm really worried...

About 3 days ago I returned home just about half an hour before LO's dinner and he started complaining as soon as he heard my voice from the door. He was hungry but I realised it later. So I took him to change his diaper and measure his temperature because he has had a mild cold. A friend of mine was also there, and all the way the LO was complaining. When I said he has no fever, my friend said really loudly "yay no fever!" and clapped her hands.

That scared my baby a lot and first he screamed and then he started this really weird crying that I have never heard before. He would whimper rhythmically and after a short while he started moving his head rhythmically too along with the whimpers. He wasn't unconcious and didn't look odd, but wouldn't be consoled, so I asked everyone to leave the room and started walking around with him and rocking him and singing softly to his ear. After a couple of minutes he stopped the rhythmic crying and head movement. At some point I stopped rocking him and he started with it again, both the crying ans the movement but milder and with some more rocking and singing he stopped.

The whole thing has worried me a lot, partly because I felt that he got extremely stressed out which is awful for me on its own, but then I'm worried if this weird crying is a symptom of something... I honestly don't ever want to see him suffer like this again.

Hi, I didn't want to read and run.
It's difficult to make out exactly what he was like because we obviously didn't hear or see it.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry. To me it sounds like he got slightly anxious and scared. My son comes out with all sorts of noises! The worst is when he is frightened, for example!.. last night he woke around 11pm with wind, I went into his room (it was dark but small light from landing came in) .. I picked him up to console him, but then I sneezed, twice. My gosh did he scream, along with his head moving from side to side. I felt terrible, but he settled eventually.

If you are genuinely still worried, talk to your HV. That's what their there for =)
Around the 7/8 month mark, my boy started to get separation anxiety and even cried if a stranger looked at him for too long!

Try not to worry too much. Hugs x
