Hi

At my 6weeks check up I was discussing with my GP about needing to loose weight. When I was TTC and I came off the pill the weight pilled on and it made it harder to conceive as I have PCOS which I believe needs a careful diet. She thought I was best to join something where I go for weekly weigh ins.

I have done weight watchers and the Cambridge diet before, I lost a wee bit on WW and lost loads on CD. I don't think I could restrict myself to something like CD or herbalife again plus it needs to be something that DH can cope with as if I'm having a shake for lunch he will make something for himself that I'll the want and I'll fall off the wagon!

Does anyone have any recommendations on something I could follow?

Slimming World is a good group. My mum lost loads on it, and there are weekly weigh ins and support. It's not a restrictive diet - but like WW you only have so many 'points' to spend on snacks/fatty food a day. My mum was eating loads of fruit, veg, salad and proper meals every day

I lose weigh by counting calories. I have to have less than 1500 a day to lose weight. I know people say that's too little, but everyone is different, and I just can't lose weight if I eat more than that.

My Oh's mum has lost 3 stone in 6 months on the slimming world diet. There are pretty much no restrictions on carb intake, it's just making healthier choices. I've seriously considered doing it myself but I can't go to the weekly meetings. I e also heard good things about juice plus but it's expensive and only good for temporary weight loss as its meal replacement.

I massively recommend slimming world too belfa. I lost 2 stone on it prior to falling pregnant. I'm following it again now. You can basically eat unlimited lean meat, fish, potato, rice, pasta, fruit, veg, salad. You get 15 syns a day for treats. My group is brilliant and my consultant is so supportive.

Id recomend SW, the gym and fluid retention tablets. I did all this before falling pregnant.

Thankfully mumming and working keeps it off LOL

Slimming world! I lost 2 1/2 stone after having B and have learnt how to make better choices so most of it's stayed off.
Doing exercise is my thing and I love having an hour or so to myself to do Zumba classes.
At 6 weeks I was doing buggy fit and swimming with B as my exercise and lots of walking. Gradually increased it to more cardio stuff.

Thanks ladies I have had a look at slimming world and will give it a try. They have a class tomorrow afternoon but I might be getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow morning so will probably wait until next week to start (might have lost a couple of lbs due to the teeth pulling ).

I really enjoy Zumba actually and was looking at the xbox game so I could do it every day at home lol!

I have horses but I'm too heavy to ride mine just now which is ironic - too heavy to do my main for of exercise!! x

I've just joined slimming world online, so we'll see how it goes :)

I stopped riding 2 years ago and put two stone on. That was after riding for nearly 15 years!

I got both my teeth done and got sedated, i came out and was sooooooo hungry. that night i had a big bowl of macaroni! mmmm lol..

Its not as bad as you hear..

I'm another slimming world fan! It doesn't feel like a diet!
I've lost 2st 5lbs since January 👍🏻
Hubby doesn't realise he's eating "diet meals" and it was perfect for weaning as its all fresh home cooked stuff.

I'm doing MFP (1400 cals per day. Plus my breastfeeding cals), walking 10k steps a day and no refined sugar.

Lost 16lbs in the 6-7 weeks I've been sticking to these 3 'rules'.

6 weeks is still very early though so be kind to yourself and don't do anything drastic.

I've still got 2st to go but plan on doing it a lb a week. I know for me personally If I lose it steadily but slowly I'll find it easier to maintain. Already dropped a dress size and I still have a night a week when I eat out or get a take away (basically a cheat night!) and I even have a glass or 2 of wine. I just avoid sweet stuff....

 i remember me at 6w PP doing the fitness DVD by Michelle Bridges from biggest looser. I think the more you try to do at once you end up just blowing it and either hurting yourself or getting fed up easily. Im sure Nat did you not hurt your knee doing too much too early first time?

I did the same, ended up giving up and letting nature take course. Thankfully with no hormones in my system every nights a cheat night, I just dread the day I turn 30 and my matabolism slows to hell..... haha :p motherhood does keep the weight trim...

Slimming world - back to pre pregnancy weight by the time LO was 5 months old !! Lost all I needed to in 8 weeks and kept it all off !! Best thing with slimming world is you can eat if your hungry xx

I did indeed hurt my knee after James - doing a freaking Davina dvd.... One that I'd done so much I knew off by heart!! Cue lots of physio and I needed to see a podiatrist for a few months too... knee pain ended up effecting my feet.

Typically this time I sprained my ankle when Bee was 13w and I'm again undergoing physio (first appt today actually.. sprained ankle actually was ok at the time but obviously I did some damage as gradually my foot became more painful)

I'm a complete wreck post partum!! Seems worse this time as I'm bf'ing.

So yep be careful and don't do anything mad lol.
