waters breaking early????!!! Advice please

this happened to me about 2 weeks ago i stood up after having a wee and gush loads of fluid leaked out, it was clear and didn't smell, i rang midwife next day she told me to lie on my left side for half an hour and when i got up if anything trickled then ring labour and delivery. nothing else came out so i just left it. My waters did leak in my 3rd child at 22 weeks but i never noticed it i went in with bleeding and scan showed waters had gone. after 11 weeks of them leaking i finally went into labour at 33 weeks and had my little boy. I would always say ring midwife any worries.

Thanks hun, nothing else has come out on the pad so probably just pee. I have period type pain going all the way round to my back but I feel like a right idiot calling her. When this is probably just normal, just hard to know what's normal in pregnancy.

better to be safe hun and just call them and ask for advise thats what they are there for they wont think your daft at all xxxx

I called and spoke to a midwife but mine is off today. I asked if the period pain and back pain was normal and she said no......She said to put another pad on, take paracetamol, and drink more water incase its a UTI. I've to call back if it gets worse etc.

I would agree with calling your midwife if you suspect your waters went then got period pains. Don't feel daft about ringing, that's what your taxes are paying for lol

Ohh so this midwife suspects it could be the start of labour maybe? Although period pains and back ache are normal in a way. Alot of us got this weeks before birth but for you with your waters maybe broke, it's looking good!!

Oh no hun, it wouldn't be good I'm only 28 weeks pregnant :( She didn't say it was my waters or the beginning of labour. But when I asked if the period pain and back pain was normal she said no, not really. So now I'm more worried lol.

yeah, defo keep an eye chick!! And ring up the midwife if you suspect anything. You really dont want to have this baby now my dear, i gave birth two weeks ago he was in scubu and we had a two week stay in hosp, home now. So, its so important you ring the midwife if anything changes, however silly you may feel hun xxxxxx

if you notice it comes and goes time it if there is a pattern to it get yourself down to the hospital just to get checked

Well I wasn't reassured by that midwife so I called the hospital and they asked me to go up and get checked. It's probably nothing bit just incase. Just waiting to get picked up, you're right even if it is.nothing I'll be happier once I get checked out.
Thanks girls, so glad I have PF! X

So sorry pinkymum, can't see tickers on my phone and thought you were further on D'oh!

Ooooh Pinky stop scaring me like that!!! My placenta might drop out with the shock!! I was gonna say go to your hospital instead of ringing your midwife - mine has a maternity triage dept and they are always excellent at checking you out. I really hope everything is ok hunnie xxxx

Thanks girls. All is ok :) baby was monitored and she's fine. Feel a bit daft but better to get checked. gP surgery called just as I was leaving hospital and I am anaemic after all so I got some iron tablets. I'm guessing that could be the reason why I've been itching as well.

glad all is well, well me and you seem to be having identical pregnancies, everything all fine then itching, then water loss, and anaemic lol. if its any help i seem to be all fine now i am 31 weeks, still bit itchy and slightly anaemic but everyting else finally seems to be going right now. so if your following suit yo'll be great in 2 weeks lol
