Water births

im lucky to be giving birth in a brand new maternity suite so ive been told ill deffo have a pool and i deffo want a water birth x

Cause there smellyheads:) .. god im mature , no apparently they dont have the resources which is ridiculous I'm considering changing hospital .

Haha that made me lol :D That's rubbish that you can't have one. Hope you manage to find somewhere you can have one if it's what you decide you want :) x

ive just put 2 books on ebay

1 on home birth and 1 on water birth

see the classsified section at the bottom of the forum

I am hoping to have a water birth too. The only trouble is there aren't many pools in most hospitals. There are some great videos on YouTube. The girl on one born every minute was a star... Really relaxed. If I have one in 14 weeks I'll tell you all about it! X

do you know how many are in yours chances are you might just get 1 :)

Not sure. I haven't chosen my hospital / birth centre yet. Have some tours booked in Feb. I know they have pools at all three I could go to but not sure how many. I know one of them just has one. But apparently not many people ask for them so may be lucky x

yeah i didnt ask on my d.s even though i knew there was through a door way in my room lol

I'm really undecided about a water birth, alot of aspects of it make me quite nervous.
I always think that they won't get the baby out the water quick enough!
XxX

in the book it says so long as the temp of the water is between a certain temperature the baby wont even try to breath before he or she reaches the surface plus they still get oxygen from the placenta

Oh that's good to know! I have my 34 week midwife appointment tomorrow so I'm going to ask her about them then.
XxX

And the babys just spent the last 9 months underwater hehe aww Id love a water birth but Im pretty sure Ill be having an epidural & u cant have both can u?x

nope your only allowed gas and air for a water birth but the water takes some pain away too so most people can manage in the water with gas and air :)
