Water birth anyone?

Nothing is going to go wrong girls where ever you feel most comfortable ;) Think positive. Your body is designed to do this. :)

lol think i'm same as you tiny, a nutjob! i will try to stay calm Mervs Mum.. but i'm a natural worrier! you'll all know what my labour will be like soon enough anyway i'll be writing a story for you all! i hope it is as inspiring as some! xx

there have been some very inspirational birth stories on here recently and Im sure yours will be just a wonderful :)

thankyou hun! i'm sure yours will be too :D:D xxx

Its such a shame people are so scared of labour. Its all these shit TV programs that show nowt but doom gloom and screaming that make ladies so scared. Yeah it hurts but not like in a broke your leg or cut your finger kind of way, its a different pain, one you have never experienced and won't again (unless you have more kids). I might be a bit weird but i actually enjoy labour and the delivery. Its all about keeping calm and relaxed. Lucas' delivery was so beautiful and i will remember it fondly forever.

Like MM said, your body is designed to do this and you will all be great at it if you keep the right frame of mind. Please don't be scared lasses, plus the gas and air is awesome and every pain is worth the drunk feeling it gives you  xx

iv already booked my epidural lol so wont be water birthing but its really never appealed to me although im sure it is lovely

lol toon! thankyou for your inspirational comments. you're right! and Mervs Mum is too! but i'm just a baby when it comes to pain. i can't even handle splinters.. can't speak for anyone else, but that's why i get scared! but i'm also REEEAALLYYY excited. it's such a weird feeling.. xxx

I would love a water birth, hopefully if the pool is free when I need it then it'll be an option for me. I'm really not worried about the birth, and looking forward to it now although it feels a bit like it's not all happening to me!

LOL I would love to feel like that!! I also had a 'perfect' labour and it all went very smoothly, but I really can't say that I enjoyed it!!! I was also gutted as I didnt like the gas and air and I had built myself up so much to like that bit coz of what everyone says!
JennyG, Malta is a beautiful place-typically island life, but we are still getting used to the different way of life!!

When I really think about it, Im not really scared of pain, but Im scared of a lot of the medical interventions. Im so set up that IM gonna give birth Im scared Im gonna be pinned to a bed and not allowed to focus. And the thought of some things they do to women is quite barabric...I dont think theres anything abnormal about that fear though. I suppose its handing over control to people who you dont know and personally, I dont trust!

same here tiny i get scared that i may need some emergency operation of some sort and i really don't want an epidural just for the fact that they have to put these things in you left right and centre!!!

water birth just seems so much more natural and nice xx

That's great advice....stay clam and relaxed. You have to close your eyes and find that place deep inside you that stores an inner strength that could move mountains! While you are busy seeking that inner strength, the contraction will be passing over you!

Find an image (an interactive moving one is best because it keeps your brain busy) that gives you joy and concentrate with all your might on that and NOT on the pain.

Take pride in the fact that men could NEVER do it ;-)

you give just as good advice jennyg, thankyou that really helps as i have quite a visual mind!! :) xxxxx

Two of my friends had a water birth, they also had their babies at home and wouldn't change anything about what they did. They highly recommend a water birth.
