Does anyone recommend any? i hate paying the prices they want for washing powder so i want one that smells nice :) i am currently using Daz mandarin and lime splash and it smells lovely but its expensive so any ideas? Thank you x

Atm I'm using the Ariel one with the Febreze built in and it's lovely  I use the gel tablets as opposed to powder and its on offer for £2 for 11 washes at Asda at the minute :D

Ohh im going asda at weekend think i might pick some up :) I was using a non bio tesco branded one at 1st but the water here is horrible and the washing used to come out smelling like stale water thats y i say it has to smell nice lol. x

I have the same problem in my area too! Thought it was just me! Tried all the washing machine cleaners and stuff too!
Now I use Daz and that seems to be the only thing that keeps the clothes smelling fresh,

Ohh! i thought it was just my washing machine, i cleaned mine out with cleaner and soda stuff too. x

Nope I'm joining the smelly washing machine club!!

I have found out a bit of the problem though - I couldn't figure out why the washing machine door kept closing itself - Turned out hubby and his kids keep closing it everytime they walk past it! This isn't helping the smell situation!
They think by closing the door the smell can't get out into the room - but this is making it smell worse! Grrr why don't people listen to me?! They think I'm making it up or something.

Haha i leave my door open and then my OH shuts it when he does the washing up as its below the sink and when i do dinner i have to close the door. I was thinking of getting a new washing machine as this one is the previous tenants and its just a washer and i wanted a washer dryer but now thinking on it the clothes would smell worse if they was being dried in the washing machine :S x

I found with the stinky washing machine problem that if I do a 100 degree wash with no washing in the drum it helps clear it. Also if you can be bothered it helps to drain out the waste pipe as stinky water gets trapped in it and then smells like gone off egg and cat poo at the same time! Guess that doesn't help if the water is bad in the first place though.

I've been using a Tesco 'Pure' conditioner for years and I love it. I like to hang my washing all around the room so it smells nice when it heats up.

i use persil non bio tablets and comfort pure, smells lovely!! xx

I have done 3 boil up washes with nothing in it and it didnt help. i clean the filter every 3/4weeks and as far as the waste pipe is concerned it drains through my kitchen sink the only pipes i see are hot cold and my sink drain pipe. I have got tesco pure conditioner and non bio washing powder and i was only using them 2 at 1st but even when my mum came round she could smell the stagnant smell on the clothes. But my tap water smells sometimes so its something to do with the mains pipes coming to my flat which there isnt really much i can do about it x

I tend to use the supermarkets own brand of non bio, not morrisons though, that is clogging up my machine at the minute :(
softner I use the 'pure' either supermarkets own or comfort if it is on offer

I tend to use the bold fusion gel tablets but only if i manage to get it on offer. Its so expensive. When its on offer I buy about 4 boxes!!! x

I love the orange or purple bold.. Tesco normally do the 24 or 26 wash ones for about £4 I think..cheap when you think of the little 10 wash ones are about £3.80!

I use fairy non bio gel. It smells lovely and atm you can collect free Timmy Time books :) I also love comfort pure softener, they are not the cheapest but they get the clothes clean and small nice and are safe for baby too

Have you tried running some bleach throught the machine on its own? Also some bicarb and white vinegar might do the job, one cup of bicarb and 2 cups of white vinegar to the rinse cycle :)

You might have to replace the hose, sometimes they just end up stinking :)

I think those were on offer at Morrison's on Tuesday!

I use Ariel gel, the green one. It smells lush. I don't need to use conditioner with it either.
I love the smell of the orange bold and have a bottle of the gel to try.

I found the non-bio (persil/fairy) wasn't getting AJ's clothes clean and were constantly stained :( Not a good look! So washing took forever as I was doing a continuous washing/soaking routine.

I have done the bleach and the bicarb. I was talking to my OH last night and he said its something deff to do with the Fresh water thats going into the machine which would be from the mains and seems the tap water smells sometimes too its something to do with the fresh water to my flat x
