Morning mummies! Just looking for some shares about how you're all dressing your babies now the weather is warmer. We had been just dressing him in a vest and babygrow/top & trousers but this week I've removed the vest layer as he has been too hot. He got particularly overheated when we went for a walk in the pram. So my first time mummy question is what are you dressing your babies in (at home and out and about) now its warmer and how do you balance them being covered and protected from the sun with not overheating???

Thin long sleeved top and thin cotton trousers.

DS is a hot boy anyway. He's already sleeping in just a nappy.

If he's still getting hot go with short sleeves and shorts, and suncream. He'll soon let you know if he's too hot or cold xx

When I had my son two years ago it was that baking hot summer, hotter than this. Usually at home I had him in just a short sleeved vest. If we went out I would pop a pair of shorts and socks on him. I always packed plenty of layers in my change bag for him incase it got too cold for him. I just kept him totally out of the sun, either in the shade if out in the garden or with a cover over the pushchair/car seat. My son is typically red haired with blue eyes so I didn't dare risk him being out in the sun that young!

Also watch the use of suncream on babies. Most are not recommended to be used before six months and the earliest I've seen that can be used before then is a niviea kids one which was three months. I think it is to do with how sensitive their skin is. Again with my son being so fair and potentially having sensitive skin, I didn't risk it.

I would just use layers so you can remove them if the day gets hotter.
I usually dress her in leggings, a short sleeved vest and a top. In the mornings its still nippy so I put a knitted cardigan on her then I wrap her in a cellular blanket and a fleece on top. That way as the day gets hotter I can take the fleecey blanket away, remove the cardigan and the top if necessary etc etc etc and she's sorted.
I try and avoid putting her in direct sunshine and find shady spots to leave the buggy. Direct sun in on a baby's head freaks me out!x

Today Bee is in a sleeveless vest, a t-shirt, leggings and a cardigan when we were out.

Oscar is such a warm little boy, we've been in the house today but he's had a short sleeve vest, some joggers and briefly he had a cardi on but he'd just had a bath so he was a bit chilly :) xx

Thanks all. Yep I have a warm baby too. In the end today he went out in a short sleeved vest a long sleeved T-shirt a pair of trousers and socks. Interesting to hear about the sun cream. I have bought a couple of tubes and neither have age recommendations on. I kept the hood of the pram up today but coverage (and overheating!) may be more of an issue in the carrier.

My little boy is a hottie. Today he just had a romper on and was still hot so I took his socks off. They and a cardi went on about 4pm xxx
