Walking and talking

My little one started talking ridiculously early - I cant even remember when she started to be honest but she was saying words e.g. bottle, Mummy, Daddy etc and knowing what they meant well before a year old and she has been stringing several word sentences together for a few months now (she is 20 months old) e.g. "more toast mummy" etc.

But all kids are totally different and I am sure learning 2 languages is a lot harder than only having to learn one so I wouldn't worry about it, I know of a few kids my Lo's age who barely talk at all.

My daughter was a right lazy bum with walking though, it took her until 14 months to start taking steps unaided she just didn't have the confidence or the strength until that point where as one of my friends kids was confidently walking at 10 months! I felt like I was doing something wrong but I know I wasn't it is just that all kids learn at different rates and it is best not to push them too much, they will get it in their own time. Now at 20 months old my LO runs around like a loony, it will come in time :) xx

It is so true that all babies are different and develop at different rates. Already with my youngest boy I can see he's doing things my eldest didn't do until later and there's some things he hasn't started doing yet. We have had all the gurgling and cooing noises my eldest made as well though, so it looks like I'm in for another early talker, God help my ears!!
