Ladies,

A little help needed please. I have had a little google to see which vitamins i need when TTC. Have come across Seven Seas, Pregnacare and Boots own brand. Which is best?

I have seen posts on here saying that some of these change your cycles etc so would it just be best for me to take individual vitamins and which ones?

Thank you xx

I’ve never taken prenatal before but I’ve started now, I brought 1 pack of seven seas and 3 boots ones, just finished my seven seas pack yesterday and started on the boots ones this morning so no idea if they change cycles or not yet! Plus my cycles haven’t been quite right since mc in May so I’m hoping if they do change them then they change them for the better lol

I was taking the pregnacare folic acid, but at nearly £10 a pop, i wasn't prepared to keeping parting with that much. Needed some more and Superdrug do their own bran, which i am told, by my sis  is just as good as the leading brand, which i dont doubt at all as she confidently said 'if you look at the ingredients, they are exactly the same'. Its a bit like paracetamol, they all do the same stuff, you are just buying the brand.

So my advice is dont feel you need to break the bank to get what you need in you.

Ladies,
Thank you - i went to boots and i bought their brand called 'conception support' started them this morning so now its a waiting game :)
I also bought my partner the Wellman vitamins too to help with fertility and reproduction.

xx

I’m taking a prenatal (pregnacare) however I’m also taking vitamin b6 complex 50mg to lengthen my 10 day luteal phase.

DH takes Wellman Conception and extra Zinc

Honestly all you need is 500mcg of plain folic acid. It's way cheaper than any prenatal vitamin and can't do anything to mess your cycles up. I found pregnacare stopped me producing EWCM for the two cycles I took it. Other than the folic acid you should be getting everything from your diet. If you're not, then changing your diet might also help with TTC :)

Winter Wolf do you think this is the reason AF is now 2 days late and a BFN because of the vitamins I’m taking?

Just like winterwolf says, I'd just stick to the extra folic acid. I take folic acid, normal multivitamins, omega 3 and vitamin D supplements because I rarely go out in the sun. Since I've been taking the folic acid, I've had loads more ewcm. Like when I go to the bathroom(TMI), I can sometimes see it hanging! Gross I know!
But I wouldn't waste my money on all these extra "prenatal" vitamins. As soon as you're pregnant, you can make the switch.

Like Winterwolf says, just take extra folic acid. I'm not pregnant yet and will only switch to "pregnancy-vitamins" when I am. Don't waste your money on those prenatal ones. Since I've been taking folic acid, I've had loads more ewcm!x
