Hi Ladies, Just wondering if anyone has had a VBAC and how it went. I had a planned c section with my 1st pregnancy due to a placenta break down at 34+1, this is my second pregnancy and was just wondering how successfull VBAC's have been for those of you's who have had or attempted them.

Hi. I haven't had one but my friend had planned csection for breech for her first baby, then went in to have 2 vbacs.
Also had a friend who had 3 sections then a vbac :)
It can and is done a lot now, most consultants encourage it too. I'm sure you'll get plenty of replies.
Good luck :)

I had a planned section with my first 4 years ago as she was breech.

Plan for this one was/is vbac but again baby has been breech and still is and I'm 34 weeks, know some turn nearer term but thinking I might have had it as dd never turned.

The closer it's getting I'm not sure which I'd prefer now so happy to go with te flow and clearly baby and my body deciding!!!!

My eyes almost popped out when I read you were 34 weeks now!!!!! can't believe it we were ttc cycle buddies at one point!

sorry your lil one is breech but glad you are close to meeting them soon

I was just having a quick look around before posting this question too. I had an emergancy section with my daughter 4yrs ago as she was breech, didn't find out she was breech until i was about 5cm dilated.
Now i'm pregnant again i'd like to go for a vbac but my friend has been telling me horror stories of them going wrong, now i'm not so sure.
I've got my first mw appointment tomorrow so i shall ask and update you all on what she has to say about them.

Just saw the I want.

I was thinking about you today as I pop in to tri one now and then nd hadn't seen you. Hows the preg going? hope you are keeping well.

I know that's me 35 weeks on sat! Had mw yesterday and she thinks baby might have turned, scan tue.xx

I had a vbac 16 weeks ago, best decision I have ever made! No problems, wonderful birth xx

They only reason they monitor vbac more carefully is that if you are in an insane amount of pain it could not only be from labour and dilating of the cervix but also the scar of the c-section. He scar could tear (especially if the births are close behind each other), I heard it was rare but my best friend gave birth this way and all went well.

Good luck, also when it comes to breech, moksa treatment is supposed to be very very effective in turning the baby.

Perhaps it depends where you live. Where I live they are very strict about this.

The risk of a uterine tear in a vbac is the same as the risk of a cord prolapse in any vaginal birth, 0.03% or something like that. This figure includes minor tears that require no treatment xx

My friend was the first woman in the area to have a hvbac, and has done twice!! X

Anyone wanting a vbac (water, home or hospital), I would recommend you read the article called "vbac - on whose terms?"
Can't for the life of me remember the author but it's a great easy read xx
