Have many of you suffered with UTi all through pregnancy?

Before I became pregnant I hadn't had a UTI before (not in adult life anyway)

Since becoming pregnant ive had about 5... I never have symptoms, I do my routine sample at my midwife appts and they always find something so send it off and then I get a phone call to say I need to pick up a prescription for a uti, it's really annoying me now!!!

I'm 5 days away from my due date and just had a phone call off drs saying I have a uti again!

I wouldn't mind but everytime I antibiotics I get thrush.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I really don't want thrush again so close to my due date xxx

Hello! I'm the opposite actually. I used to get utis all the time but since being pregnant I've only had one. I've found that some antibiotics give me thrush, and others don't. Maybe ask your gp if you can try s different one? Failing that I find eating live yoghurt everyday while I'm taking them can help x

I had UTI's for most of my second trimester. Thankfully I've gotten away with it in my third trimester. I've never felt like I've had one though, it's just I've been told when the doctor has tested my sample.

I've drank that much Vimto and ice cubes, that I'm quite surprised my wee isent purple most of the time.!

I could of maybe had more but because this is my fourth baby, I rarely see a midwife. It's weeks at a time. But if I was going in between I may have picked them up xx

Thanks hun I'll try live yoghurt, I read that in an article earlier xxx

Also... Covering yourself down there in the yoghurt can help if you do start to show symptoms... Just leave it on as long as possible.. And pray nobody walks in on you doing it :D x

I didn't have any symptoms of a uti either and was told to take antibiotics the other week, which made me really irritated down there! I think it's because of the cefalexin. Amoxicillin is always fine, so if it comes back in my urine again tomorrow im going to ask for amoxicillin! Which antibiotics were you prescribed? They sometimes prescribe thrush stuff alongside it, just as a precaution. Id be annoyed like you too! Get baby here - tonight!!!! :) x

Utis can kick of labour you know colleen ;) wink wink x

The one that gave me thrush was cefalexin too sugar!! Must be something in it! X

Ohhh must be something in it definitely ! Oo yay colleen maybe it will irritate your uterus and kick start labour!! :) :) :)

Touch wood I have only had one this pregnancy right at the beginning but my first and second pregnancies I had loads of them and kept getting thrush so then had to use cream for that too. Was such a miserable nightmare! Feel your pain hun x
