just wondered what people thought of doing this?

My mums friend little boy is called Scott, but he is registered as Allan and Scott is his middle name. The little boys Dad is called Allan and that's why she's done it that way.

Would any of you do that or do you think it's silly?

I didn't think it was a common thing to do until I realised my Nana and Papa are both known as their middle names  I suppose it's not really something you would realise unless you asked!

my little girl is called AmyRose We mostly call her Rose but we call her Amy when she has been naughty i have no idea why lol xxx

where my oh is from it seems to be a common thing to , I've never heard of it before but at Aoibheanns baptism the priest kept calling her by her middle name ?

its prob not something i wud do unless like amyrose where im using it and then calling amy when naughty lol, but i dont think i would bother christening a child something if i already know im not going to use it lol seems a bit pointless to me!! :) xxx

I've came across it quite a few times, it's always funny when you know someone for years then find out that's their middle name and not their first! I don't really understand the logic though!

My Dad is actually Robert but all his life has been called his middle name Andrew.
He hates his real name! Makes sense really, he was born on St. Andrews day! xxx

I know a few people that get called their middle names too lol strange isn't it x

My little boy has a double barreled first name, Alfie-Ray but we find ourselves calling him Ray ray alot lol but to be honest we have that many nick names for him I'm suprised he knows that his name is Alfie-Ray lol

My nan is called edith jane, but has always just been known as Jane
