Needing cleaning (or cover up advice)

We have been renting our flat out to a couple and their young daughter.
Got the keys back yesterday and went in to clean up ready to sell it.

The back bedroom where the little girl was sleeping is reeking of pee. :puke:

Anyone know how to get rid of the smell.
Ive read that water is not an option as it makes the smell worse.

Replaceing the carpet also not good as we are skint.

Thanks

lots of bicarb sprinkled on and then left before vacuuming up??

Hmm im not entirely sure but to get rid of dog pee on carpet, you wash it with biological washing powder mixed with water - I'm not sure if that will help or not - see what other people say!

Can you not use any foam carpet shampoos?

Sometimes those companys trying to sell you those expensive hoover / carpet cleaner all in one things come out and do your carpets for free

What about hiring a rug doctor? when our dog was a puppy he pee-ed everywhere and the rug doctor really shifted the stains and smells. It only costs £20 for 24hrs.

We have tried bicarb of soda will let you know the results

Hope it makes some difference the estate agent is coming tommorrow

yeah I get the ladies at work to use bicarb its great at shifting odours, and then to cover up any left smell use Neutradol carpet powder or just some shake n vac!! but if the pee has gone through to floor boards, you going to need to lift carpet and air the boards :wall:
