Just had ultrasound done external and internal for fertility issues. She said ovaries are fine she can see eggs on both sides. Then she asked me if id ever had operation down there. I havent. I asked why and she said she could see a bright bit on my womb. I asked her if it was a lump and she said she didnt think so. She is sending me for mri scan. I am terrified. My auntie had womb cancer years ago. What could cause scarring? Would she tell me if it was a tumour? I have no pain, periods are regular and i never bleed inbetween periods. Now terrified :-(

Oh Hunni, how terrifying! Hopefully it is nothing, you can get scaring for all sorts of weird reasons. Fingers crossed they get you in quickly and everything is ok xx

Don't panic. I had a lump on my ovary that was spotted in an ultrasound and was convinced it was the worse case scenario. They'll MRI you and possibly biopsy if there is something to biopsy (I had my womb biopsed). You may go for blood tests too.

I imagine if it were serious you'd have other symptoms like weird bleeding. Mine turned out to be fine and most blips and lumps are fine. But I know how terrifying it is to be in the middle of the whole process.

Can you talk to your GP about this? Mine sat me down and explained all possible outcomes to me which was helpful (and then he took my blood pressure which by then was 175!). It should all happen quite quickly so you won't have long to wait.

Also find out how long the MRI is...mine was 50mins and I had no idea.

I really think they are just being careful. Also when I mentioned it to people so many women had had scares but no one talks about it normally.

Keep us posted hon. xx

Feel like its one thing after another. Guess thats what you get for never going to the drs. I keep thinking if she thought it was serious she would have said stop trying for abit? She did say it look like scarring rather than a lump. Its all so stressful.

I know it's terribly stressful. That's good if it looked like scarring. I hope you get your MRI soon. You could always as your GP for a blood test too. x

I had full bloods, day 3 and day 21 bloods in November. All ok apart from FSH was abit high 13.9 first time then 10.9 on a repeat test. Due at fertility clinic 1st week in feb. Also i was slightly emotional at the ultrasound! Stupid i know. But it should be a happy occasion to see a little miracle not a strange mark on your womb!! I must be due some good news soon xx

That's a good sign that you had ok blood tests in November...if it were something bad it would show up in blood tests. I understand...I thought I was pregnant when I had my ultrasound and it turned out I wasn't and had a cancer scare instead (I had worrying blood results - but it ended up fine). Not surprised you were emotional! I think they are just being careful - they have to check things out. xx

Try not to worry, scar tissue can occur for many reasons. I think if she thought it was a cancerous lump/mass then she would have referred you with more urgency. They won't delay on those sorts of things. I do know it's scary though x

Dr just rang.. i have to see them tomorrow. Feel sick with worry :-(

Do some abdominal breathing or something. You've just got to go through the process of getting everything checked out. At least they are on this. Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

So had to see dr yesterday. She said not to bother with mri as it will just delay things. I have to have an urgent hysteroscopy. Got to ring on monday for an appointment but it will be within 2 weeks. Mind is in overdrive. Typically as well i got peak ovulation today but they wont do the procedure if pg so think sexy time is out the window. They dont know what it is apart from its 'solid' dr said they will remove it if they can during the procedure. 2018 sucks so far!

Oh no. Glad they are getting on with it though and that they will remove it if possible. I would definitely leave sexy time this month. So sorry you are going through this. Hope it's all sorted in the next 2 weeks. Will be thinking of you xx

I just want to say I am thinking of you and wishing you well with the procedure. X.

Thankyou Sunflower and Alexis. I am trying to be positive but had a massive wobble last night. When im thinking positive i think dr is rushing it through because she knows im 43 and time is running out ttc. I also keep thinking i have no pain or bleeding after sex or inbetween periods etc so surely that has got to be a good sign. But then there is a what if creeping into my head. Least like you say they are rushing it through. Hopefully soon i can tell you all it was something and nothing and then i can get on trying for my little miracle xx

My dr said to ring up yesterday for urgent appointment and said they would do hysteroscopy. I have appointment for next wed but the letter is just a standard outpatients appointment letter and doesnt mention any procedure or time appointment will last. I dont want to get all geared up thinking they will do hysteroscopy if they actually dont! It doesnt mention possible anaestetic or anything. My dr lead me to believe they would remove whatever it is there and then. Is anaestetic not required? I hate not knowing!

So sorry you are going through this. Sending massive hugs.

I'm pretty sure you need anaestetic for hysteroscopy.

Is it a pre-op they've booked you in for first maybe?
Not sure how it works with emergencys but when I had my lletz treatmeant I had an appointment with a nurse in the outpatients department first. They had to check weight, height, etc.. asked lots of questions about medical history.
Was given a date of the op and information on that day

Hope everything goes okay xx

Thank you. No dont think its pre op. Its with consultant. Letter just says date & time and take wee sample and go to gynea outpatients. No idea what to expect :-(

I had one of these and they biopsied the womb - they knocked me out totally, general anaesthetic. I'm surprised you don't have an appointment with a consultant to discuss the procedure. You could ring up the department and ask exactly what the appointment involves.

Bless you. :(
If I were you, like Sunflower said, maybe give them a call and ask? xx

Just rang them. She said its likely to be a consultation to discuss next step and if they can do anything else. They will discuss procedure with me then it will take place on a different date soon after initial appointment. So waiting game. Xx
