Hi there, I’m new to the site... I don’t like to discuss my problems with anyone in the outside world but feel I really need some support you know?

I am on my 3rd month of full on ttc and have been using opk since the start... problem I have is I have really irregular cycles for starters... so I’ve been using an app, and the ClearBlue sticks... That all seems to be going fine, I definitely ovulate monthly so that’s a start

My main issue which I have only been able to sort out (to an extent) 3 months ago was until then unprotected sex used to give me panic attacks as I was sexually assaulted in uni (only my OH knows)

So now I am 6dpo and not sure when I should really test as I have always just waited for my period to appear so I have no clue when I’m ‘late’

So sorry to hear about your awful past experience.

I have irregular cycles too. The main variation will be when you ovulate, after that your luteal phase should be fairly standard length. Everyone's norm for that will be slightly different, so you'd need to know what it is by tracking a few months to know when you're 'late'. I find temping and fertility friend site/app has been helpful for me to get a handle on mine. If unsure, go with assumption of 14 day lp length

being a complete nerd I know my luteal phase is 13days, but last month it was 6-7days so I am thinking my egg was fertilised but didn’t implant... kind of frustrating and reassuring at the same time I guess...

My OH has kids from a previous marriage so I know everything with him works, I used to have crazy irregular periods as a kid (sometimes up to 18months between) but now it’s a bit better varying in length between 27 and 72 days (the extremes of that are rare though)

So I’m on 7dpo now, hoping some implanting is going on... I have everything crossed for it anyway
 
So sorry about your past experience. Sounds like you might have a bit of pstd. Abdominal breathing is good for trauma, as is yoga. Finding ways to detrigger yourself. There are things to help with trauma like EMDR and something called the Rewind technique that you can do with professionals. I have trauma and panick attacks from something else - for me it's about feeling out of control so if there's anything you can do to feel in control like being able to say stop whenever or being on top or whatever it takes to feel okay then do it.

Thanks Sunflower1... I think control is my issue too, myself and OH have worked hard getting ourselves to this point so hoping it’ll pan out now...

I know it’s too early to test, just really excited/impatient is all ��
