Hi

So I have been off contraception since Jan 2017 and trying properly since about April last year.
I have regular cycles every 28-33 days, I've been using OPK's which are positive at around the time of ovulation, I also get ovulation pains so I know i ovulate. We have sex in my fertile window and still haven't been able to get pregnant... Am i being inpatient? Should I go to my GP, and if so what is he likely to do? I am just getting a bit fed up now and I think my OH is too!

It can be normal for some couples to take up to a year, sadly!
So frustrating I know..

After a year you can go to your gp, they should be able to offer you bloods to check progesterone levels. xx

Hi Kerwin feel free to come join our long termers thread 6 months or more. Most of us have been trying for a year or more now.

I have just hit the 12 months mark went for bloods yesterday and get results Thurs to check hormone levels x

Yes also ask for your OH to have a SA to rule out male factor issues. Unfortunately that is our problem which is not solvable without intervention.xx

Hi everyone

Just a little up date... we went to the GP today. He basically advised to keep trying and considering that we are both fit and well (we don't drink, smoke, have fairly good diet and exercise regularly) then hopefully it should happen within the next 6-12 months. He has requested OH does semen count however can be unreliable and then to do some midcycle bloods on me. So will just await for those to be down in a couple of weeks and see what happens.

Good luck Kerwin. I am just waiting on my day 21 bloods. Get results tomorrow so you are in same boat as me. Will find out then if they gonna do a SA on OH and whether we need referred. Think every GP does things slightly different in order from the stories on here x

Good luck with the tests Kerwin hopefully it can happen naturally for you soon

Hi Nikki

Hope you've got your test results back and all is positive!
Need to wait til may 4th to have my bloods. In the meantime the OH is going to do his SA next week. So just going to carry on as normal and keep trying. My job is fairly stressful (nurse) therefore will just need to try and find ways to de stress. Now the weather is getting better hopefully that will help!

Thanks CDK500! Hope so too xxx
