I still can't find baby on the Doppler and by my dates I'm 11 weeks tomorrow (despite the fact that all my scans have shown me 2-4 days behind, I can only be maximum 1 day behind as I had an early bfp). I know that's not necessarily terrible but I am really scared about it and can't wait another 2 weeks for my 12w scan.
I booked a private scan for this Sunday and am just bricking it. If everything is ok I am throwing my doppler in the bin. If it's not then I am glad the doppler let me know before I blindly went to my 12w scan. I've tried SO hard to find the baby, and used the doppler successfully from 9w with my son so I know how to use it, where to look etc. Just feeling quite sad and worried, this Sunday can't come fast enough. I hope baby measuring 4 days behind at 9w wasn't the sign that s/he was struggling.

Hi Predicteye! I am so sorry you feel this way, I can imagine the feeling. However , I would say not to rush to conclusions and wait for the scan to see if everything is fine or not. I read that other mummies-to-be didn t know how to properly use the doopler and got concerned as well( for nothing). Do you have a new Doppler ? Maybe you just coudn t find the HB because of his/hers position.

Keep calm and wait for the scan.. Fingers crossed for you x

Most midwives dont even use a doppler before 13 weeks because they have trouble finding it. Your not even 11 weeks yet. Wouldn't worry about it.x

Midwives don't look or listen to the heartbeat until 16 week appt so try not to worry

My midwife said they don't look until the 24 week appointment as at 16 weeks they can't always find a heartbeat and it worries people.

I don't have a doppler as I thought it would stress me out but I can say I had fertility treatment and so know exactly when baby was conceived and I measured 5 days behind at my first scan, which was impossible. By the next scan they were a day ahead of where treatment dates put me. They said it was really hard to get accurate measurements when they are so small as if they curl up or stretch out a bit it can make the measurement inaccurate. I know it is impossible but try not to stress yourself about it, hopefully baby is fine in there.

Hey,

I'm nearly 21 weeks and haven't actually found our little girls heartbeat anywhere. I've tried all over too! But had my scan today and she was perfect! I do hope everything is okay for you, but could just be down to where baby is sitting! I had my OH help me too so might be worth trying that with your doppler?
Wish you well x

my midwife said they dont listen in till 24 weeks as even a trained professional cant find it, she did let me hear at 16 weeks due to a bleed but it hurt when she did it as she had to press on my stomach and angle it in!

try not to worry x

Yep policy in my area not to use dopplers until 24 weeks because they find it hard to find it. It's really difficult so early so please don't worry, charities like kicks count are always warning about the dangers of using home dopplers because they upset people for no reason I'm sure everything is fine x

Try not to worry! I found my little girl's hb at 13 weeks and this time around it was 12 weeks. My mw checked for both at 16 weeks although told me not to panic if she couldn't find it.

Step away from the doppler. A heartbeat is not a reassurance of everything being ok and they're not recommended for home use for this reason. Measuring a few days either way at this stage means nothing, and an early bfp doesn't change your due date. You'll be ok!
