I had a transvaginal scan yesterday as I had been experiencing some pain and some bleeding, after having a miscarriage last year this all panicked me.

From the dates I have worked out I am 5 weeks + 5 days meaning yesterday I was 5 weeks + 4 days, the scan showed nothing but the gestational sac, no yolk or anything else, which i understand is normal this early, but from what I have read on google the size of the sac is smaller than it should be?
Im not 100% sure on how big the sac should be and I dont really understand the sizes :( can anyone give me some reassurance? or just tell me if its too small or not? And if my hcg levels are normal? I have another scan in 10 days to double check things. I am absolutely terrified guys, I really want this to go well :(
I have attached picture but if isnt visible -

Gestational sac size: 3mm x 1mm x 3mm
Gestational sac (mean) 2.3 mm
HCG Levels: 1678 mIU
Progesterone Levels: 49.30 nmol/l.

Thank you

Sorry that I can't help bu just want to make sure you are ok and not worrying too much, is there anyone with your health team you can call to maybe explain the information?

Sending support x

I am not an expert but it sounds like a reasonable result for being so early. The measurements are so tiny at that stage that measurements are not always perfectly accurate. I mean we are talking mm here, not cm. It's really easy for them to be a mm out. Also having ovulated a couple days later than you thought could make a big difference to measurements. And some babies seem to be faster than others implanting. DD measured almost a week ahead on my first scan which I knew was impossible so I don't think their dates are always as accurate as they think :).

The fact that they found a sac in the right place is the important part for now. They will be able to tell much more at your next scan, at least I assume you are getting another one because that is what the paper is recommending. I won't tell you not to worry, because I know that is impossible!
