Tongue tie

What a cutie! Worth investigating though! I've been having trouble with feeds again lately. I thought bottles were easier but he gets so frustrated. It's not the teat size, not teething, not colic or reflux. So will speak to HV again this week. It's getting really stressful again. :-(

Avent. We have never had issues with them. I expressed when bf and he was fine with them. Just like he was fine with bf, it's just changed and getting stressful. :-(

Are you staying relaxed? I think babies pick up in these feelings. If I'm getting stressed out I give Tyler to OH for a cuddle so we can both calm down. Hows the milk temprature? How long have u been on the bottles now? He's not having a protest because he wants to boob back? (think that's a long shot)

I don't think he is to bothered about boob or bottle. I try to stay as calm as possible as I know he will sense it. Milk temp is fine. I use a bottle warmer and it makes it Luke warm. I've tried cold and slightly warmer and he gives same reaction. He has been on bottles solely for 3 weeks now. It's only been past couple of days that it's getting bad again. Maybe growth spurt? I don't know. He seems easier with bottles in the morning but by the end of the day it's a night mare!

Yeah doubt it's boob then. If it had been sooner might've wondered. How old is he (I'm on my iPhone do no tickers)

4 months old today. 2 weeks younger then your little man.

They have a growth spurt at 4 months (and a sleep regression) so it might just be that :) where have the last 4 months gone? I barely remember being pregnant now!

I know. I wish time would slow down a bit. But at the same time, I love seeing him grow. He looks more and mre like his daddy every day! Love my little soldier so much...no matter how much he tests my patience lol.

I know this thread has not been commented on for a while but I wanted some opinions I have an 8 week old baby my second child I was not very successful at breast feeding last time but this time I found it even worse anyway when the midwife came to see me when she was a day old she spotted straight away that she had quite a bad tongue tie so they referred me to my local hospital who informed me that if she could take a bottle (which she could)they would not cut the tie I explained that I really wanted to breast feed but found it too painful but they were unwilling to do anything I've tried going to my gp and my health visitor but they are getting the same response from hospital obviously now 8 weeks later it's too late to breast feed but I am now worried that it could affect her speech they have stated they will look at it if it does affect her speech when she starts to talk. I am fed up of trying to fight my case and don't know what to do next I have heard people in other areas get the procedure done straight away. Has anyone had the procedure done or can anyone help all I keep getting told is if I really want it done now I'd have to go private! I'm constantly coming up against a brick wall and am frustrated any advice/help would be appreciated.

Maybe demand a second opinion from a different surgeon or even in a different NHS trust? It's your right to be seen anywhere in the country and different areas have different guidelines on what they can operate on (due to budgets amongst other things). Also in my personal experience of working in surgical clinics for years some surgeons will operate on things that others won't, they'll find away around the rules to operate on people if they want to.

If your little one feeds from a bottle ok, then they won't do anything sadly. Well this is what my situation is anyway. They said that if my LO struggles when weaning, to then go back. And as for speech, it may or may not affect our LOs speech. Again it's something to just watch out for. This is what I've been told anyway. My boy gets his from My hubby. Hubby has never had issues with speech or eating so I'm not concerned. But will be keeping an eye on it.x
