What's the diference from stage one formula? Is it something they have instead of bottle or is it just a substitute for cow milk so they should drink it with there dinners?
I feel abit funny about stopping first stage n I need to reasurch

they arent allowed to advertise infant under 6 month milk, but they can follow on on and toddler, so its a way of marketing. I'm sure there is some science but I put Isla on cows milk x

I never put Noa on follow on as I thought it was all b-shit and Noa has goodnight milk in the evening, but he likes his morning bottle and I don't think he's rready to drop it just yet, so can I keep him on stage 1 after he's 1? I heard the toddler milk is very sweet n that's nothing I want Noa to get used to x

I used toddler milk with AJ.
I used it as AJ was not (and still isnt) a big eater and I wanted to make sure he was getting some essential vitamins in his diet.

Its personal preference, I'd say if LO eats fine then he's fine to have cows milk :) x

Matthew is on follow on, mainly because it's cheaper! But when he is 1 he shall be going onto cows milk, it's what I was on when I was younger and did me no harm!
XxX

Yeah as Emma says... it's all a marketing ploy hehe! Layla is however on Follow on milk. Again, as Ippa says, because it is slightly cheaper! We use the Aptamil brand anyway so it's expensive anyway but Layla has always been suited to it. She is only on 2 8oz bottles a day now and will do the switch from Follow on to Cow's milk when she is 1. I was on the understanding that once the babies stop formula milk they also have to take vitamin supplements? (bit like the ones that you get with the Healthy Start vouchers for babies that fail to be able to take 600mls a day?) But I was on the understanding that they need the supplements just to boost them just in case they don't get the amount they need through their food and as they are then on Cows milk not formula (with the vitamins already added). Does that make sense? I don't know... correct me if I'm wrong lol xx

Tegan obviously can't go onto cows milk due to her lactose intolerance but if she could that's what id be changing too. munchkin re vitamins Tegan's Dietician has actually told me to stop the vitamins at 1 as she should get them all from her food xx

thanks ZMD... will be looking into that in more detail then as I am waiting for my voucher to put Layla ON the vitamins at the moment due to her lack of milk intake at the moment. Need to know what to do when she turns 1. xx

AJ has vitamins as he is a poor eater.
I wasnt told to give him them, I did it as I know he isnt getting the vitamins he needs. x

In Sweden all children gets vitamin d until there 2 x

Herbie is on the follow on milk one bottle on a morning one bottle before bed if he has any other milk in the day it's just cows milk I just like it as a feel he is getting all the goodness, and when he isn't eating much like when he's teething or poorly xxx

Drake has the same has Herbie. Except he doesn't like cows milk! The thing is he only half drinks his morning bottle so i don't think he'll be long giving that one up. He probably only has about 10oz a day now :oooo: I'm not sure what he's supposed to be having! Will ask the hv on thursday i think.

I don't think I'm getting a bottle off herbie anytime soon he shouts for it lol and I think once the baby comes it will be even harder xx

I know. Drake loves his morning bottle but only has about 3oz from it, don't get it :eh:

Layla is the same Yodabo... it's nightmare. She usually managed 4-5 out of 8oz in the morning though and then I use the rest for her weetabix. Then she has an 8oz bottle before bed but sometimes takes only 7oz. My HV back in Wales always said that they MUST be getting 600mls (about a pint/20oz) of milk per day. That includes what you use to make up any food etc with like weetabix. Any babies that don't get that should then have the supplement vitamins (you get a voucher through on healthy start to claim them if you are getting those) just to make sure they are getting the right amount of vitamins etc. I'm still waiting for my vouchers to come through so that Layla can have them. xx

Tegan will only drink 5 Oz before bed and has 3 Oz with her Weetabix she's been on vitamins & calcium drops since she was about 7 months old but i was told to stop them at 1 she's back to the Dietician next thursday so will see what they say then x

Herbie drains a 8oz bottle in 1min flat lol, I think he uses them for comfort tried etc I do need to cut him

Lizzie only has 6-7oz of formula a day and HV said that was fine so long as she was having 3 varied meals during the day! Who knows

I asked my HV about this. Drake is on 6month + formula and only has around 10oz a day. She said this was fine as long as he eats well which he does. She didn't have any concerns and didn't say what he shouldn't and should be on, she just said just go by what he wants.

I've never given toddler milk, as I do see it as a money making scheme! If they're eating well, well, atleast 3 meals a day, they "should" be getting enough vitamins from that! Up to 1 year, their diet does rely heavily on milk, but once they're eating properly then the food takes over! K was a fab eater, whereas E was really fussy and only ate really small meals, but they were both fine with cows milk from
About 11 months! It's one of the classic "you know your baby" things, if you think they need the added vitamins
Etc either get them vitamin drops or whack them on toddler milk! Abidec vitamins are good, and cheaper than the milk ;)
