Stanley had a great day yesterday and as I had to take him with me when I went to evening surgery at the docs I bought him a bag of Milkyway Magic Stars as a treat. He went completely mental for a good hour.

He's a lively fella anyway, but this was completely freaky constant running and screaming. Much more than a sugar 'rush'. He had a similar reaction when I tried him with a few inches of Coca Cola a couple of weeks back.

He's fine on fruit-type snacks and toddler biscuits that (I presume) are lower sugar. I've spoken to my mum and we're going to cut back on all refined sugar products.

Has anyone had any similar experiences or knows anything about hyperactivity?

my sisters to boys still cant have coca cola as they go mental on it same with m&m's and skittles not sure why they do but always have done.
xx

Smarties would drive my brother mental... he wouldn't sleep for hours...my mum worked out that E200's were the main culprit.

I don't know anything about it really but Nathan is not allowed sugar. Hes fine with fruit, yogurts and the odd mini milk lolly but anything else he goes mad. I can put up with the running round mad but he doesn't sleep when hes had sugar. I avoid it at all costs now but I do feel really mean when the girls are getting a treat and he gets a plum or an apple :rotfl:
