To tumble or not to tumble?

Sorry didn't scroll back to read, mine doesn't cost too much tbh, I'm about 20 quid a week on electricity. But everything is electric in my house.

Also, the shrinking.. My clothes have never shrunk, nor has jacksons I think maybe if u leave them in too long or something? But none of mine have ever shrunk.

I think it makes the clothes all soft and snuggly - its a must for my bedding too! Lol.

I should maybe check the setting on mine and maybe not put them in for long, i keep forgetting that his clothes are alot smaller than ours so shouldnt take to long to dry.

i couldnt agree more with the bedding haha!! Xx

Well yeah I put our clothes on high and jacksons on medium.. Maybe try that ?

Depending what I've got on as you say baby stuff doesn't take as long either but it is easy to forget.

When I'm doing my stuff I literally throw it in and leave it but I check jacksons.

Yeah the bedding is a must. I love soft bedding. I used to dry it on the radiator previous to having one but its just not the same.

I must admit tho, I prefer my towels hung to dry because I feel they dry you better if u tumble dry them they end up all fluffy, but I like that too.

I'd be lost without mine!

The only clothes I've found have shrunk have been from primary, peacocks and m&co. Everything else has come out fine.

I also often put mine on a timer to come on overnight when the electricity is cheaper (it's in the garage though so doesn't keep anyone awake) x

Yeah its so easy to forget especially when your on auto pilot lol or trying to quickly sort it out while LO sleeps lol to be honest i like my beddinh when its been hung outside to dry aswell just feels so fresh. Ahh i love fluffy towels out of the dryer lol

Do you dry jeans in dryer? Ive never, again afraid incase they shrink. But it would be alot easier in the winter. Ive always hung them out or put them on the radiator but we've just moved recently and the lady that lived here before us had the house in a disgusting mess so the radiators need to come off to be cleaned before i put stuff on them. Havent bothered doing it before because of the hot weather, never needed to put anything on the radiators. Xx

I always considered a tumble dryer a luxury, right up untill my second child was born and I began breaking down in tears on a daily basis cause I couldn't keep up with the washing! Having a tumble dryer now for me is a neccessity! I couldn't cope without it! x

Definitely I could never keep on top of our washing before and that was only me & OH, another reason for buying one.

I dry anything in the dryer lol, we have an anti crease function aswell which I have on permenently LOL, every little helps.

I've nevr known anyones jeans to shrink in the dryer, more so if you boil wash the living hell out of them like on the malteaser advert and she switches the jeans for the barbie ones LOL?!

Again I don't like my jeans not in the dryer because theyr so rough. Personally I don't notice a huge difference with comfort unless its tumble dried.

Tbh when jackson came I got a dryer and a dishwasher and it has made my daily life a whole lot more managable.

I used to have one but got rid of it. I was sick of clothes shrinking in it and it was choosing me a fortune in electricity. I just use a clothes horse now but put bibs and small things on top of the radiator.

Here's a question though... when I did have one I was constantly cleaning fluff out of the filter so where does all that fluff go now I just hang the clothes up to dry?? *cue twilight zone music* lol

I've never used a dryer in my life so never considered getting one, but we don't have room in the kitchen anyway.

However I do have a dehumidifier which runs overnight in baby's room (the white noise drowns out the noisy neighbors!) And that dries the washing pretty quickly

Tambo, I thought that myself because we used to clothes horse ours but I've noticed a dryer draws hair off of things aswell?

I have two cats even tho our horse was in bubs room (cats never get in) I'd still find hair got to them somehow so that's why we tumble lol xxxxx

I couldnt live without mine either! Love it. Use a lower setting for LO clothes and if they have shrunk its minimal! Also second the greatness of fluffy towels and bedding! Good for pet hair too!

Definitely get the drier! With a newborn about the amount of washing I had to do my entire house would have been covered with drying clothes and it would be like living in a steam bath lol. I use mine at least 3 times a week in the winter and it's so much easier to be able to just do all your laundry and dry it in one day whatever the weather. I cant imagine living without it now especially with number two on the way.

Did anybody else see this thread and think it was going to somehow be related to Mr Tumble? No? Just me then
