Sounds a great idea.

Appantly putting ur legs up after the deed helps the swimmers reach their goal :)

Following on from Pickledonions! My friend told me don't go to the loo or wash straight after. Panties on and a panty liner!! helps keep u a bit fresh! :)

Keep those ideas coming! need all the help we can..lol... xx

Always do the pantiliner thing he he! Ooh apparently if you orgasm it helps the swimmers along

Great idea for a thread. any tips are appreciated!! x

I was wondering that today whether having an orgasm before the deed, which typically gets the juices flowing, and then having sex with your OH would be a good idea (and hopefully a second orgasm to boot) :good:

Might try that this cycle.

My own tip would be to leave your vagina alone! I've been reading loads about the delicate pH balance in your vagina and the huge impact it can have on the sperm getting into the cervix.

I'm not even going to use soap after AF has gone away because that may reduce the acidity of your vagina because it tend to be neutral to alkaline.

Apparently it shouldn't smell funky, just more au natural... lovely

I'm going to stop poking my cervix too.

I dont know about the rest of you ladies but having sex every other day can be quite demanding..... so I have to mention sperm friendly lube as a useful tool during ttc!!

I've just found just on the internet hope it helps :-D xx

Predict ovulation. Learning how to predict your ovulation is key to improving fertility. This is because having sex near ovulation improves your chances of getting pregnant with each menstrual cycle. One way in which to determine when you’ll be ovulating is to use a basal body temperature (BBT) thermometer.
Check for other signs of ovulation. Look for changes in your cervical fluid to help you predict when you’ll be ovulating. When cervical mucus is produced in greater quantities and when it is stretchy in texture, it means you are ovulating and therefore are most fertile. But if cervical mucus is dry and being produced in lesser amounts, you are less fertile. Some women also experience mittelschmertz (“middle pain”), a mild pain in the abdominal area that is indicative of ovulation.
Wear boxers. Men should wear boxers instead of briefs. This is helpful in improving a couple’s chances of getting pregnant because wearing boxers reduces the risk of the testicles overheating, which can result in sperm damage.
Getting pregnant sex. While timing sex around ovulation can help improve your odds of getting pregnant, another factor that can help in improving your infertility is getting pregnant sex”. This is because certain sexual positions can help to direct the sperm nearer to the cervix, which increases a woman’s chances of conceiving.
Importance of female orgasm. While it is well-known that male orgasm is linked to getting pregnant, female orgasm is also relevant to a couple’s chances of successfully getting pregnant. When a woman experiences an orgasm during sex, it helps to draw the semen into the cervix, thereby resulting in a higher chance of pregnancy.
Elevate your hips after sex. Following intercourse, elevating your hips and buttocks can help improve your chances of getting pregnant because it helps the semen stay close to the cervix and prevents leakage of the semen. Lying in bed for about 20 minutes with a pillow propped under your hips can help boost your odds of getting pregnant.
Don’t douche. While this is a fairly common practice, douching can actually reduce your chances of getting pregnant. Douching affects female fertility because it disturbs the natural state of the vagina and can aggravate vaginal infections.

I read that taking cough medicine can help!! apparently the ingredigent guaifenesin found in cough medicine is used to thin the mucas in your lungs. However it cant tell the difference between that and your cervicial mucas. So by thinning that it helps the sperm to get through alot easier. I have tried it this month to see. You should take an table spoon twice a days a few days before ovulation.
Make sure this is the main and only ingreidient though as other ones can hinder TTC, for example antihistimine.
I have read success stories so i will let you know.
Also your vitamins are meant to help. We are taking Sanatagon Mother and Father to be. His has zinc (good for sperm) and the girls has folic acid
any other tips would be great xx

just found this...

Actually, female orgasms do not help. In fact, they hurt your chances of becoming pregnant because the fluids interfere with the pH levels needed to become pregnant. The best way to become pregnant is for the female NOT to orgasm. The orgasm almost dilutes the environment needed for conception. Hope this helps!

Who knows which is true!! x

so I have to mention sperm friendly lube as a useful tool during ttc!!

I've been wondering about this stuff...

I bought some Preseed thinking it resembled cervical mucus, but apparently it resembles semen - but if it makes the vagina a happy place for semen... will the sperm bother to go into the cervix?

I use Sasmar Conceive Plus from Boots and it says on the box.... Scientifically formulated to match fertile cervical liquid and sperm creating a conception friendly environment that feels natural and increases the likelihood of conception...... also unlike Preseed it comes in a tube so you can use as much or as little as you need.

I have the Sasmar Concieve plus....its not worked for me yet but I find that its good as someone else says all the baby dancing can make u a little sore and fragile. Legs up is good as pointed out in the article, I always read a boolk for half an hour after sex and put a pillow under my bum....but hey what would I know this will be month 9 for me :wall2: Interesting about the Orgasm tho...I wonder which one is true??

Love all these! I should ovulate in 4 days sometimes its later hope this is my month! :( xxx

Eating mackerel just before ovulation is supposed to give you a fertility boost (I dont know how) my brother in law is part of a team doing research on this stuff, he said it is not conclusive and therefore not in the public domain as yet, but told me it was definitely worth trying as results have been dramatic in some cases. Full conclusions of the study and recommendations to GP's wont be made for another 2 years, so nobody knows it yet! But now you all do, so get some mackerel in :-)

The month we concieved we:

had sex everyday the week before i thort i was due to ov.. and through to 2 days past ovulation... i used opks, to check as hubby has abnormal spermies so we had to do it everyday to keep them fresh lol and every other day in the weeks before.

i made oh stay inside for a bit while he stood there and held my legs up in the air for half hour

as nasty as it was i didnt douche i just did the whole pantyliner thing.

i did orgasm a couple of times, but i dont think i did around ovulation so cant be sure that had anything to do with it.

I had put OH on wellman tablets (this takes up to 3 weeks)

told him to drink NO Caffine lol

made him weaqr loose boxers and told him not to get sweaty / hot down there..

I was taking boots own pregnacare stuff... mother to be or somtehing...

i think that was all we did...... wow it sounds horribly difficult when you list all the things you can do.

I had read taking baby aspirin up until you concieve can help - this was gna be my next thing as i have to take them now im preggo anyways to try to prevent pre-eclampsia this time round...
