I was just looking up prices at my local private clinic (thinking about going private for iui as we have a long wait on the nhs til october). And let's face it I'm not getting any younger

Anyway I thought the little videos of iui and ivf on this website were quite good, it's probably nothing you didn't know already and they are just simple little explanations but I find that type of thing quite interesting so thought I would share.

Hubby is not wanting to spend the £825, I'm trying to twist his arm, we have savings so just having a think about it. He would rather put the money towards a new bathroom???

I will let you know what we decide. Other than thinking about this I've been quite good this month at chilling out about ttc, don't feel as obsessed as I usually do. I have no idea if/when I ov and I'm not that bothered

Babydust to all you lovely ladies :dust:

heya hun, long time no speak.
how u doin?
i kno how u feel about goin private wish i could too.
nhs are on a go slow!!!!
did u have a pelvic scan by any chance?
im waiting for my appointment to come but its taking agessss, im half tempted to phone up to see whats goin
xx

hi kk, did you notice that they offer interest free loans? also i understand your hubbys reluctance but if you did and and gof forbid it failed, you are still entitiled to the nhs rounds of iui and you wouldnt lose your place in the queue.

i suppose it depends if you can afford it but interest free may be a solution??

hi abs, i'm good thanks hun, makes a change :-) how's you? yeah phone up and pester them about your appt, can't do any harm. what was the waiting time? yep i've had an internal scan (if that's the same as a pelvic scan?), got it at first appt at acu. checked my ovaries.

yeah itisbabytime i did notice the interest free loans but didn't look in to it properly. it's def good to have that option available. like buying a sofa! ha! i'm hoping OH will come round to the idea. if he doesn't then i will try to relax until october. won't be easy though! i may need your help! i read on another post you got your af chick, sorry hope you're not too bummed :-( xxx

Hey KayKay! Thanks for the page. Ive got a private appointment next Tues to see whether theres anything the NHS has missed. I cant afford private really but a loan is a possibility. Think we will more look into it if the NHS free goes fail though. Im going to the private bit of the Royal as the fertility dr at the RAH reccomended it.

oooh i didn't know there was a private bit at the royal, i will look in to that. i had just looked at the nuffield and the one at cardonald. think it's a good idea to get them to go over everything with you even if you can't afford treatment. although this loan thing might be the solution to our waiting game problem  good luck hun keep us posted x

Hey yeah was pretty bummed on saturday but ok now. My progesterone number was good so the clomid has done the trick. Bring on round 2!!

Morning gorgeous love the links how fascinating! Thanks for sharing. In wish I could make your October wait shorter for you. When I win the lottery you will be first in que for my interest free loan :-) xxxx

Aww thanks Giz you're a sweetie :-)

AF arrived today much to my surprise (that's what happens when you stop doing opks!) so I'm gonna have another serious chat with OH about going private. Good news is it was a 29 day cycle and I haven't had any pmt for a change, think the agnus castus has really helped

itisbabytime yeah fx clomid does the trick for you hun...i have that packet sitting in my bedside drawer and i'm tempted to take it arrrgghh x
