So after all the earlier panicking i finally got round to enjoying my pregnancy a few weeks ago.......

Now im nearly 28weeks an the only thing im slightly scared of is what if i dont enough time for pain relief as i dont have a good pain threshold?i know theres thousands go through with no pain relief

My question is i was induced with first and from the moment they put drip in till i had elise was 11hrs ive heard 2nd labours are quicker an im just wondering if anyone has had a quicker 2nd labour but still had time for pain relief?xx

I was induced 1st time. Was quite traumatic deliver forceps ect. I was so scared 2nd time. Was also only 16months later ! My 2nd birth I went into natural labour after a early sweep. Was alot quicker and a much much better experience :) I still opted for epidural tho it didn't fully work but did take the edge off. I was glad really that I could feel the birth but unlike last time. And I was up and walking by the time I was taken to post natal ward ! My friend was only in labour 5 hours and she still had pethidine xx

Sorry to hear you had a traumatic first time glad second time round was better for you - I think it is because I know what is in front of me seeing the consultant next week for a growth scan im really struggling with my hip pain and just dont want to be too immobile or in too much pain by the time Im full term - I dont think I can opt for induction but I will mention to him my concerns. I know the first time I had pethidine at 11.30am and it was still in my system up until I had my daughter I remeber asking for another shot of it and was told no as I was too close to the pishing stage so Im now thinking Im not going to have time to fit even one lot in - obviosuly I dont want to put baby or me at risk by having it as know it makes both sleepy - will see what consultant and midwife say next week. I found the gas and air useless the first time round and not really keen on an epidural and unless absolutely necessary I dont want a section xx

Thank goodness! Ive been waiting for this post for you to say your embracing pregnancy.

I had a fab induction, no time for pain relief though. It happened too fast.

I did it on G&A

I had an emcs with my 1st and got to 7cm prior to the section which was 3 hrs 45 mins after labour started. My 2nd labour was very quick, was 6hrs from first niggly pains and only at hospital for 30mins before baby was born with just gas and air so no time for anything else xx

Just remember that it's going to be a totally different labour. You have previous experience and know what you want/don't. Every birth is different so try not to panic. I was offered a early sweep as my 1st son was almost 10lb and I absolutely didn't want to be induced again . Luckily it worked and was in labour the next day. Z

I only had gas and air from 9cm this time as it happened fast. My first birth gas and air didn't help but this time round I found it really good so hopefully be the same for you xx

Im hoping i can just focus on whats happening and keep thinking that we gonna have our baby at the end of it xx

I know. And when I was pregnant with my 2nd son they was telling me he would be bigger and had to have growth scan's ect and he was 8lb 1oz !! So u really can't predict it ! I found 2nd time alot better because u have experience. 1st time u really don't know ! X

The consultant first time round said baby was medium/large (he has a very dry sense of humour lol) and elise was 7lb 5.5 so id say that was average i was 7lb 10 wen i was born xx

My bump measured perfect with my 1st son and he was almost 10lb. Then my bump with Leo measured 2 weeks behind so was sent for am extra growth scan as i was having them from 36 weeks anyway. And he measured above average lol. So again bump size isn't really an indicator. My sis in law went 2 weeks over with her 1st and he was a whopping 10lb 7oz !!!! Thought she was joking lol x

I was measured 5weeks ahead first time and elise wasny big so sure itl be the same this time xx
