I was booked in for a elective section Friday the 18th. Got to hospital for 10.30am was admitted to the ward and told someone would be round to see me soon.
The midwife came gave me my hospital gown and stockings told me I was 3rd in line so would be going down to theatre about half 3.
A doctor and anesthetist also stopped by to talk me through what would happen. Was abit late going down. OH had to wait in a side room whilst I had spinal (they numbed the area first). They put a drip into my hand then lay me down and began prepping, within 10 Mins I couldn't feel down there.
Doctor went to get OH and they started. Strange sensation of tugging and pulling but no pain. It didn't seem like 5 mins when they said baby's coming out now, the anesthetist got OH to peep over the covers to see baby arriving. 16:52 It's a boy!!!
They showed me then took him to get weighed 7lb and half an ounce.
OH rang our parents then held the baby while I was being stitched up. I went to recovery and went back up to the ward. Theo fed for 40 mins so happy. I was in there about an hour.
About 1am that night I was taken off drip, catheter removed and walked to my own room.
Carried on feeding baby by breast. Didn't sleep a wink the first night and people kept coming in to check blood pressure and temp.
Came home 6pm Sunday night.
