The state of things at the moment

Glad your getting alot of support from all sides, your HV sounds great.

Just a wonder on the baby front, would you beable to have a section and avoid any further damage that way. ?

aw hon, i'm sorry you're having such a rotten time of it. but i'm glad that things are slowly looking up and you're getting help

I hadn't realised you were going through all this

oh hun, what a crap time you've had
i think you're amazing for staying so positive and being so supportive on everyone else's threads when you're going through all this, I'm not surprised you're suffering with pnd too! I can empathise with the PND side of things its awful to feel so low all the time but it's great that Galen is settling down and you've got lots of help, hang on in there you're a fabulous mummy :cheer:

Just thought i'd send a post in empathy.

I'm sorry that things have been so tough for you - I'm in a similar situation with a demanding baby who "power naps" at most in the day, so I know how draining it is, and how difficult it is to get anything else done, or dedicate time to yourself.

Every time I have been here, I've witnessed your posts being a pillar of support to everyone else, and I'm glad that you're getting help too from the forum, from family, and from your HV.

I hope that things continue to improve for you.

I'm really sorry things have been so tough on you but it sounds like you're on top of it.

You're doing so well and Galen is super gorgeous - you should be so proud.

Thanks :) TBH its not just a case of draining this, they need to go right down into the root of it all and basically cut it all out  Hence the wound once the op is done. Apparently it'll be about the length of the average index finger wound wise  They can stitch it but there is a chance it will get infected that way, so have to think carefully about what would be best. Still all being well its a few months off at least.
thats what happened with mine, they were left to heal inside outwards, my first one took 5 weeks and was about 2 inches long and an inch wide. ive since had 2 more done.

is it filled up with pus do you know? i always found a hot salty compress or a dressing covered in magnesium sulphate helped to fetch it to a head and burst therefore giving some relief.

Also have a power napping baby over here

I hope things improve rapidly for you, its hard enough without what you are going through

Glad you are managing to get out, it often makes you feel so much better, especially if the sun is shining.

Will be thinking of you

Awww hun I'm sorry you're having such a tough time but you seem really level headed about it all and I can only hope things pick up more for you soon! It's not easy being a new mummy and must be extra hard with having health issues to combat at the same time.

sorry you having such a tough time but well done for staying positive, you have done a great job so far and you will continue to do well you are very strong x

glad to hear things are improving slowly but surely sherry

So sorry to hear what a tough time you've been having. Well done you for facing up to suffering from PND, it can't have been easy doing that.

You sound like you're getting fantastic support from family and your HV, this will make all the difference in helping you get to feeling like your old self again. It will take time, as you no doubt know but you will get there with the help of your wonderful family.

I really hope you get the physical ailments sorted out, it must be so difficult going about daily life with your bladder problem. It's such a reminder of the strain pregnancy and birth can have on our bodies. Still worth it though for our wonderful children.

Sherlock it sounds like you are having a tough time

For the power-napping baby have you tried following the eat-play-sleep formula? It really works for us and helped to regulate our little one into a more settled, predictable pattern. It's not really time related I just watch her after a feed as I play with her, change her nappy etc and once she starts to yawn, rub her eyes, or just get whingy, I put her down for a nap. She's usually asleep within 10 minutes (often less) and sleeps for an hour or more (most of the time!) It doesn't affect her night sleep either. In the early days of following this formula she would sometimes take a long time to fall to sleep in the day and I would have to keep going to her to give her the dummy or talk to her, but it really made a massive difference to the amount of me time I got. I can now have a bath and not expect her to wake up crying half way through.

PM me if you like. My sister had PND and I'm aware of how devastating and isolating it can feel xxx
