...does NOT stay mainly on the fecking plane

I've just spent our first family holiday (first time we've been abroad since our honeymoon in 2005 actually - which was a rubbish holiday itself) in Spain IN THE POURING RAIN.

I'm so MIFFED.

And you've all had glorious sunshine here - and now I'm back, it's CLOUDY.

:wall:

Oh no hun!!

Did you have a good time apart from the weather?

Well on the 2 days we had of non-rain, yes we had a good time.

But most of the time it did rain so we were stuck in the hotel, and there was sweet f-a to do in the hotel, so we slept, and ate, and ate, and slept......

wish we'd never gone really.

So gutting because it was our first family holiday all together. First time we've been abroad since our honeymoon in 2005. We saved like crazy to go and we really couldn't afford it but we wanted to treat ourselves.....and it goes and rains :(

Oh no, sorry to hear it rained.

Where abouts in Spain were you?

My brother, his wife and my 2 nieces are going on their first family hol to Spain next week. I hope its not raining for them too :(

xxx

We were in Costa Brava (Calella resort)

on Monday the rain stopped and we FINALLY got some warm sunshine and had a nice day on the beach, then yesterday it was cloudy and kinda nippy but not raining until a bit of spitting as we got on the plane at 10pm.

I think the worst of the rain is over - Friday, Saturday, Sunday it was horrific - pelting it down.

oh i'm so sorry to hear that :-( you poor things :-(
my grandparents live a half an hour drive from callela-just before lloret
lol in tossa

my mum and dad went for a visit a few weeks ago and got burnt-
so that was really bad luck to get the rain!!
hope it was good apart from the rain..my friends run a bar in callela i wonder if you went there?

It's possible we may have - we ate out a couple of times. I can't remember the name of the places we ate at though.

I like Calella - I went there once when I was 12 with my mam and enjoyed it then (in the sun) - DH liked it too - we'd definitely go back again but maybe in a better season. May would seem to be a bad idea lol.

Oh no :( My Grandparents live in Spain and mentioned it's been a bit horrible out there recently, apparently its meant to be like it for a few more days too. Its a pain cause when you go away you expect it to be hot and sunny so you can laze about the pool, get a sun tan and just generally relax and enjoy yourself (Well I do lol) so its a right pain when the weather turns out horrible.

i have been quite a few times but only to bars and clubs it all seemed a bit
too touristy as a lot of english ppl have tacky bars and restaraunts but i haven't looked round the town in the day or been to the beach and stuff i've been told it is nice- i was just unfortunate to get taken to the places i did basically! lol
its near blanes and they have the most fantastic firework display with big companies competing against each other- its in july and so worth going to!!

 you poor things... you were really unlucky because its been pretty reasonable down here in the Costa Blanca...:( although its been a bit miserable looking today...

Awww I'm so sorry it's spoiled your first family holiday, and yes we have had GLORIOUS weather here too....very unfair for you. At least it was a week away from home, bills, chores, cooking dinners, washing up, bed making etc....at least it was a break in that sense!

arr bless hun my neice went to crete on her first holiday with her boyfriend (she is 18) and they rand to say it had been pouring down there too :(

oh no thats crap :( sorry it was raining for you hun
