I don't want to leave anything until we are right at the end so next on my list are:

Steriliser
Breast pump
Nursing Chair

Anyone got any recommendations or know of any special offers???

No brand recommendations as such, but for the nursing chair you might want to try the Yahoo group Freecycle. If you haven't heard of it, it's a brilliant idea. They have several groups, all classified according to location. You sign up and then can place Offered or Wanted emails (but you have to offer one thing first). You're not allowed to sell anything as the whole idea is that you're saving people from chucking things, but there's loads of baby things which turn up on there so it looks like quite a good resource. (Charity shops are also not bad - we got a really nice wooden high chair for a friend's baby who was coming to dinner a few months ago from one and it was only a fiver!).

I bought that Avent set from babiesRus and its fantastic mega good buy, although i haven't used it yet even if i never use it i can sell it separately on ebay and make my money back, I'd say its worth getting :cheer:

I think I will, it's a lot less than I was expecting to pay for either item. One question though, how usefull is the manual breast pump as apposed to an electric one? Is it a personal preference??

I started a topic in the Pregnancy & Baby Product section of this forum asking whether manual or breast pumps were better. It seems the majority of women would recommend an electric one, for its ease of use. However, in the end, I decided to buy the Avent Baby Box set, as mentioned above, as I figured that buying a steriliser by itself costs £40, so by paying £10 more I'd get the manual breast pump within the set. And if I find the manual pump too hard to use, then I'll buy the electric one separately, so if that is the case, I would just lose out on a tenner.

I got a nursing chair from Kiddicare.com. £129 and it glides and reclines and is soooooooo comfortable. Both my parents and my MIL have bought them since they tried it they were that impressed. Realy good delivery too - they come the next day if you order before 12 and send ypu an email to let you know its on its way.
I was going to leave the breast pump until after in case I was tempted to use it too early - but there is a lacation specialist at parentcraft tonight so I wil ask her.

Sounds like an excellent plan to me, I don't want to express all the time only occasionally so Brad and my Mom can have their chances to feed and bond (not to mention taking a few night feeds).
The manual one cant be that difficult or they woudlnt sell them surely??

Manual isn't hard but your hand aches after a while. Sorry can't keep a straight face  Electric does work a lot better and it's also a lot quicker say 15 mins as opposed to half an hour. Thats how I found it anyway. I reckon manual get sold because people think how hard can it be then when baby comes they jsut want something quick lol. Also I covered some cushions on an old rocking chair but have never actually used it for nursing Debs - find it easier to sit cross legged and feed her that way (but then I've got huge boobies lol). It's a nice idea but a couple of months down the line you'll just be feeding baby anywhere so a special chair wont matter.

   I have huge boobies too, does it make it especially uncomfy??
I am quite worried as I get such bad back problems, even before pregnancy so I didn't know about the nursing chair as anything that rocks or glides might not give me enough support??

I quite like the idea of just buying a tub chair like you get in pubs, I sat at our local the other day watching football and I was sooooooooooooo comfy. I think I could easily get a plain cream one from Next or something. That way, if I don't want/like it for nursing I could always put it somewhere else in the house!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww sorry to frighten you petal! Huge boobies actually makes no difference to your baby, as that's all your baby will know. I've found with my huge boobies that its been easier to feed Debs when I'm sitting crosslegged as that way I could sort of drop my boob into her mouth, whilst supporting it with one hand. The more usual ways of breastfeeding have mum supporting baby, my way you support the boob and the baby. Holding the boob was necessary at first as it meant I could form it into more of a teat for debs to grapple with, and now it's become my style. I've noticed when I dont support it it falls out of Deb's mouth much easier plus because she has to suck that bit harder just to stay latched on it's actually a bit painful which it never normally is. Another good thing about huge boobies (well mine anyway lol) is that the sag (and you probably have beautifully pert but hug boobies unlike my knee warmers lol) means it's super easy to whip them out from underneath a baggy t-shirt and into Deb's mouth.

:rotfl: Nope mine are knee warmers too, they have sagged so much at the moment I can touch my belly button with my nipples, its my new party trick!!!

I found the manual one easy and didnt disturb stephen while he was feeding and found it really good value for money, I loved it so much i will buy it again. :D

And it expressed the milk fast!

Thanks, I am definately going to try this option first, the electric ones are expensive and it would be such a waste of money if I cant get on with it at all!

Agreed they are expensive! I couldnt afford them in all honesty, but i know there are cheaper pumps then the advent one, but it was so great last time i wouldnt trust another brand.

It expressed fast
Fitted in the avent sterilizer with bottles
And was easy to assemble after being sterilized.
