I am trying to find out how much it will cost me to go to birmingham on the train on tues
and i cant decide if im just over tired or i am just being blonde but i cant seem to work out how to do it lol
im going from colchester to birmingham ne ideas on how much it will be (please not to much i really wanna go and cant afford loads haha)

are you wanting a return the same day.. what times etc you looking at and i'll have a look for you

Based on the following:

Depart
Outward journey: Tuesday 7 August 2007

COLCHESTER STATION 09:03 Train ONE RAILWAY
LONDON LIVERPOOL STREET 09:56 Tube*
LONDON EUSTON 10:40 Train VIRGIN TRAINS
BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET 12:09

The Price is £54.10 Open Return....do you have a railcard? That is the price without.

I think the meet is at 12pm  so you'd need the earlier train than that one which is:

COLCHESTER TOWN 08:02 Train ONE RAILWAY
LONDON LIVERPOOL STREET 09:22 Tube*
LONDON EUSTON 10:10 Train VIRGIN TRAINS
BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET 11:41

Thats on http://www.chester-le-track.co.uk/

ive got £27 with a return journey... but it has 3 changes, and my guess is you will want as little as possible, but thats the lowest cost i can find for you

if your a student at college you can get a railcard.. wouldnt buy a family rail card as you have to pay for brandon otherwise, it wont work out any cheaper... but you can get a student one and get it cheaper for yourself

Its a discount card, you get them if you are a in full time education, or aged between 16-25 etc.....

Here's a link:
http://www.railcard.co.uk/

It would cost you £20 though to save a third off all trainfares (so Meet train ticket would be £36.06, not sure how long it is valid for?
 Will prob be only with it if you use the train/ intend to use the train quite often :D

Although to be honest, if you were gonna spend £54 on going to the meet, you could get the card, it would only cost you a few extra quid to go to the meet, but you would have the discount card if you were gonna use the train again to go anywhere

Just checked, and you wouldn't get it for 3 working days from Monday, so it would be with you on Thursday..........so not in time for the meet :(

SSS - I've had one of them days too

In fact....just checked.....if you got a one way to the meet (leaving at 8am) it is £13.50, a single return leaving at 6pm is £24.00 so if you head home at that time then the total cost is £37.50 :D
