Hi Ladies

Im 27 weeks preggers and I believe that means I am officially allowed to join Trimester 3  (ignore my ticker, not sure why it disagrees).

So far I have had quite a laid back attitude to getting the house ready for our Little Sausage, only started buying things after 20 weeks and have been strict with myself what to get. For example, as we are team yellow I have only bought a couple of baby grows as I know once we know what Sausage is we will want to buy lots of appropriate outfits.

Cot/wardrobe/changing table are all being delivered in early May.

So what things do I really need to get now we are in tri 3 and I can't put it off any longer?
Hubs and I are going to finally decide on pram/travel system next week. Car seat will be got then too.
We have eco friendly nappies....
a bottle sanitizer
a couple of little blankets (perhaps need more?)

I know I need:
muslin cloths!!!!!
a couple of newborn babygrows (only have 0-3 at the moment).
A bouncer

What else?!?! So many websites tell you these things, but often they seem to start going on about things I don't need yet too (like a high chair).

Any help is greatly appreciated :)
(btw I'm usually much more organised than this, but baby brain + hubby having new job has taken over!)

changing mat and other baby toiletries like cotton wool.

You will need more than a couple of baby grows/sleep suits as even though you don't know what you're having, you'll need a selection of different sizes to take into hospital with you.

couple of little hats for when in hospital and scratch mitts if sleep suits dont' have them integral to them.

Moses basket/crib
Bouncer

there's prob a few more things but i can't think straight~!!

Clothes wise I have - vests, long sleeve vests, about 5 home knitted cardigans (presents though!) about 5 shawls (presents again!), sleepsuits, a good few hats, socks, bibs, muslins, scratch mitts.

I also have the likes of nappies, wipes, dummies (I dont know if I'll use them but I would rather have them there!), nappy sacks because I'm not getting one of those bins, sudocream, then all the bath stuff. I also have a baby bath and a top and tailer. Hooded towels.

Furniture I have the cot and stuff for her bedroom, moses basket and other bits and bobs like changing mat.

I cant think of what else! Lol. Do you have a maternity bag sorted? xxx

I do need to organise a hospital bag, and a changing bag (though I am hoping for the free one from Boots, then depending on it's size seeing if I need another one).

I have been buying baby shampoo/lotion etc with each trip to the supermarket, so hopefully am covering myself there.

I want a nappy sack too, one I can wash with the eco friendly nappies. Will need to research.

Thanks for the ideas people, feel free to shout more at me!

Baby wise I have gone overboard lol with clothes and bath stuff etc Ebay and Amazon are my friend...:)

Other things to think about are how you will be feeding baby if you are ottle feeding you need to have enough bottles, if you are breast will you be expressing if so you need to think about a pump.

I hadn;t really thought about toys until recently either and things to keep them amused in the first few months!! so I have had a think about that too...

 good to see you over here hun :)

tbh now i've hit tri 3 i've decided i really need to get sorted and organized, its mainly the little things really, stuff for the hospital bag for me and LO, i have decided that i'm gonna get all sorted come next pay day, at least i can relax for the rest of tri 3 then (hopefully)

xx

Hello friendly faces!!
:dance::dance::dance: I made it to tri 3 :dance::dance::dance:

Can't really keep ignoring the fact I will have a baby coming along soon. Must get organised :wall2:

 loving tri 3 already hehe!! and ditto...got to get organized asap...no more tri's after this one eeeeek!!!!! x

Oh dear I thought I wasn't doing too badly with being organised, now I realise just how much I best start getting a move on! Eeeeek
I have a cot but no matress or bedding :S although the crib turned up today so at least she has somewhere to sleep if god forbid she was to arrive early lol
I have a bath but no towels or toiletries :S
I have one box of nappies and one bag of cotton balls lol best stock up more on those :S
A steriliser but only one bottle that came free in the post lol - although I hope to breastfeed I should prob think about a few more bottles and a pump :S
I have about 5 blankets, a playmat???, a nursing chair, a few outfits and pram shoes...and that's pretty much about it!

I really have a lot to get!!! And I guess it's time to get my hospital bag at the ready too :S OMG panic has stricken lol

I'm going to make my list now! Aaaarrrggghhh

To keep cost down I can recommend using Amazon and Ebay, I have found so many bargains on both and we have saved a fortune.

For nappies if you work on the basis that a baby will need 6 -8 nappies a day you should be able to work out what you need, for nappies try Kiddicare.com they do a scheme where you pay £20 each month, they send you the amount of nappies they think you will need automatically each month, if you don;t use all of them and you change size you can send em back.

For a cot matress if you need one I can recommend this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003722DSA/ref=oh_o04_s00_i00_details - good price and good quality.

For a breast pump, I would recommend - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000UTUFP6/ref=oh_o04_s00_i01_details - although a bit expensive it's the one the hospitals use so you know it's good, it is one of the cheapest electrical pumps on the market.

Most of all try not to panic buy otherwise you just end up buying rubbish and always try and find some reviews online first before buying.

If you're planning on breast feeding pumps aren't essential to buy beforehand.

They're definitely not an essential and can be best to wait until you know how you get on with breast feeding before spending money on one. I know a fair few people who never used theirs!

Oh God, looking at this, I have soo much to buy still! We have got all the big stuff, it's the little bits we need! So far we have

8 sleepsuits
12 vests
2 blankets
5 bibs
2 hats
scratch mits
lots of sheets for cot/moses basket
travel system
nursery furniture
breast pump
steriliser
4 packs nappies
8 packs wipes

Still need all the toiletries, muslin squares, bottles, changing bag, changing mat, toys, cardigans, more blankets, breast pads and other stuff for hospital bag. Soo much still to get!

I've got lots of bits and pieces (cot, changing table, bath, vests, sleepsuits, rompers, little outfits, couple of bibs, scratch mits, hats, booties, blankets and towels. Also got a few toiletries Inc the Eco disposable nappies we've decided to use.)
Just got a delivery from boots with the start of hospital bag ingredients! Who'd of thought you could get excited about maternity pads or breast pads!!! Also got a huge nightshirt and jammies for hospital.
Next on list is lots of large cheap (primark) pants, bottles (quite sure I'll be formula feeding). Next big things on list are cot mattress, car seat base and monitors. Hoping MIL will buy us cot bumper and quilt set. Sister is buying us steriliser.
Lots still to get, but need time to keep saving up!! It's all so exciting- I love spending money!! I'm obsessed with eBay right now!!!!

Sorry ladies just had a  moment there reading this thread! I still have LOADS to get! Got all the nice stuff like nursery furniture, pram and nice little dresses etc but have nothing practical whatsoever! Plus I've not even started my hospital bag yet! aaagh...need a lie down in a darkened room

I've got my moses basket and cot, pram, car seat, loads of blankets, hooded towels, bath stuff, wipes, nappies, nappy sacks, sudocrem, baby thermometer, cotton wool and cotton buds, bibs, baby bath and bath seat, steriliser and bottles, dummies, formula, baby bouncer and baby gym, loads of clothes

stuff for hospital bag like breast pads, maternity pads, deodrant, nightie, jammies, change of clothes, clothes for baby...

probably missed loads lol xx

Fear not ladies. My pram only just arrived today. We only finished decorating the nursery two weeks ago and I packed my hospital bag at 38 weeks!!
