Hello everyone,
I finally worked out how to use photo bucket (with a little help from my husband Phill ) and have posted a photo of our baby daughter, Keira, born 24th dec 7.50am!
Well it all started 2am 23/12/ when i woke up to find my waters breaking . I woke Phill, who looked at very confused, seemed to think i was waking him to go christmas shopping I told him again and he cottoned on then.
The hospital said there was noting they could do as i was having no contractions, so to go home and keep moving around to try speed up the process but as soon as i got in the car to go home started having pain! All that following day i shuffled round Bradford shopping for Phills christmas presents while having contractions, i kept having to grab his arm and squeeze hard during particularly painful contraction! Later that eve the pain stopped so i went to bed. 2am woke to horrific pain! woke Phill then off to the hospital. Contractions were still 10 mins apart and the nearly sent me home again! Until while i was strapped to a moniter they slowly became more painful and closer together so the midwife put me in a huge hospital bath and gave me 2 co codamol to ease the pain...i was expecting something a little stronger
Phill laid on a big bean bag next to the bath and we both fell asleep during contractions! after about an hour i had a really bad pain and felt like pushing, the midwife told me not to be silly as the pains were still 5 minutes apart, but examined me anyway and was shocked to find i was 10cm, ready to go!!!! GOD ws i scared then!
40 minutes and a lot of pushing later (plus a little gas and air!) out popped Keira! 3 stitches and a bath and i was put on the maternity ward!
I wasnt discharged till christmas day morning as my waters had broke over 48 hours before and they had to moniter us for 24 hours.
What an experience!
Love Amy.
