Here goes...
Tuesday 30th May
At 315 i went to my normal 39 week appointment at the midwife and she booked me in for a sweep on my duedate a week later (6th june)
At 8pm i just settled down for the night watching tv and i felt a strange ping sensation, didnt think much of it until 10 minutes later when i went to the toilet and had gush that wouldnt stop. Yep my waters had gone.I rang maternity triage and they said i had to go up there to get checked out and monitored. So off i pop up there no contractions at present and so after about 45 minutes i was sent home, no internal check done just pad checked etc etc.
Wednesday 30th May
1230am - Contactions were coming closer together and soo much pain so i rang back the triage and again told to go up there. Was straight on the gas and air and an internal done at 2am i was already 4-5 cms.
2am - Was admitted to the midwife led unit and met my fantastic midwife and contractions were coming thick and fast.
430am - I felt like i needed to push, its amaizng how much your body knows what to do.
At 530am - Internal check done 10cms.
All was going well, pushing trying to get into confortable positions on my back, on all fours etc etc. Oh and baby was fidgeting all throughout aswell. Babys heartbeat was checked for every 15 minutes but felt like every 5.
By 8am babys head was seen, i was exhausted . As much as i was pushing babys head was appearing and disappearing again, the decision was made to be whisked to the delivery suite so the Registrar could perform an episiotomy.
820am- Off i was pushed around the hospital and pushing for dear life as i didnt have a clue what was about to happen. babys head was alot further out and the 2 midwives thought i was gonna do it on my own however the doppler was faulty and didnt pick up babys heartbeat and the registrar didnt wait until the other doppler was found she just injected the anaesthetic and performed the cut. Cue me screaming and panicking.
837am- Baby Keira was born. Her cord was very short hence why she kept being sucked back up, it should have been double the length. Her head was extremely swollen as it was a bungee effect but all was well.
