Hi everyone

Just wanted to vent some frustration on here as I'm sure most of you have been in the same boat and can relate.

We have been ttc for almost 2 years now, went to the doctor in May and so far have had ultrasound which was normal, SA which was normal, day 21 bloods that showed I wasn't ovulating abd had a hormone imbalance associated with pcos and I had a hsg today which showed my tubes were totally clear. So by trial and error the problem is looking like pcos/not ovulating.

After I was told my hsg was clear I was so happy because I thought that I was a step closer to being prescribed clomid or some other drug but I've just spoken to my doctor and I have to have repeat day 21 blood test done! Whyyyyyy!!!!!!! I then asked the next step again and she said she has to review all the tests we've done and THEN she will "refer me up". Refer me where??? And then what? "They" will probably want to do all the tests again.

I can't stand this!!!!! Husband is getting increasingly more frustrated by the time wasting and time off from work to get to pointless appointments. Feel so deflated after being happy about my hsgs. Really believed the doctor would've said she was going to prescribe something.

Hi hun.
I know its so frustrating but your steps closer to your baby. Men get. Frustrated as to them everything is simple in most cases and they dont really under stand all the tests we nievely thought it would just be dtd bam baby but a year later we are awaiting our tests now.
Grin and bear through the tests keep ontop of your doctor about the stages of appointments and how long at least they may have got to the bottom line of the issue? They probably want to make sure for definite before they put you in for any medicine as any sort of.medical problem can vary on severity
Dont worry they may just be getting there bearings xx

It's just so annoying it feels like hurdles or that I'm jumping through hoops and when I'm being told the hsg was the last test but now have to repeat the bloods it's getting me down, losing faith in the doctors now.

If nothing is moving by the new year I'm going to go private.

Sorry for the rant I just feel so down x

Ahh it is annoying but I have to try and stay calm by thinking it's being done on the NHS and I'm not paying anything for it.

Me and my oh have had tests done at the doctors then we were referred to the fertility clinic where my oh had to repeat his SA and I had a couple more tests done. Now we have been referred for assisted conception but my NHS trust don't carry it out although they will fund it so I've been referred to another hospital and guess what - they want to repeat all the tests again!!! It def grinds my gears but I have to try and not let it get to me. I am really grateful that we're getting some help.

One day (hopefully soon) this will all be over xx

- now Free

I had my bloods repeated about 6 times....felt like a pin cushion!!!! I know how you feel babe. Im not ovulating eaither...howeve4 pcos scan came back clear so i dont know the reason!!! It is frustrating but like the girls have said bare with it as you will have your bfp soon xxxxx

Its is such a long road and totally frustrating. Make sure your GP attaches all your results to your referral and then there will be no need to repeat them, although, they may want to repeat the SA as they seem to do that often. They will probably refer you to gynae or fertility as GPs don't prescrible clomid (from my understanding). Its great news about the HSG btw xx

I hope we don't have to repeat everything but it will all be worth it in the end right ??!

I share your frustration!! Have you been getting tests done by gp or were you referred to gynae/fertility clinic?

Oh and do you have regular cycles? If so I would guess the reason to repeat the day 21 bloods is to check you are consistently not ovulating. It's perfectly normal to have a cycle every now and then where you don't ov so they will just want to check it wasn't a one-off when they did the test before. After all if you are ov-ing then clomid isn't going to help so they need to be sure they are giving you the right treatment.

Good luck xoxo

The bloods were done by my gp and then I have been referred to various places for the U/sound and hsg.

I don't have regular periods no, but since losing 1.5 stone they seem to be shorter than before (still longer than 28 days but I don't go months with a period anymore)

I actually did an ovulation strip test today (cd15) and it was a really prominent positive.....hope that means something. Used pre seed and jumped the husband ha! Haven't been able to do anything leading up to the hsg, I hope something happens this month!

Yes maybe the GP wants the blood test done on a different day? It should be done 7 days after ovulation so if your cycle is irregular they might have done it on the wrong day last time so got a false result. Its so frustrating that it takes so long. My GP said I might need clomid this time last year, I was referred to the hospital but had to have all the other tests before I could get any treatment. Only just started the clomid now!
