I have read that they are supposed to be helpful during labour but never heard of anyone having used them..Did anyone use them and did you find it helpful?

Thx

i tried tens with my first labour and i couldn't cope with it. The sticky pads irritated me

When they induced me, I was contracting on and off for 3 days but not dilating, so they couldn't break my waters.

During this time I did use a tens machine, because some of the contractions got quite bad.

I'd say it helped maybe a tiny bit but really nothing much.

I used the Tens machine for several hours & found it really helped take the edge of the contractrions but I was induced so when they put me on the drip to speed things up, I went from okish contractions to full blown ones every 3 mins lasting a minute.
When they got really bad the Tens didn't help me at all because I had to turn it up so much it just annoyed the hell out of me.

I used it for the first 12 hours of my labour, i started myself and most of my pain was in my back so it really helped. My midwife said it really is only of any use if this is where your pains are, if you are having most of your pain in the front its not much cop. I was having contractions every 4 minutes for the first 12 hours so it really was a huge help and i hadnt considered it or used it at the very begining like they suggest, i didnt get it until i got into hospital.

I have bought a tens machine after a few recommendations from girls who successfully used them, so will let you know how I get on (hopefully over the next few days!!)
