I have just heard my baby sibs heartbeat for the first ever time at 15w1d :)

I am so over the moon right now no words can describe, 160bpm!!!! but is it normal for babies hearbeat to be heard very very low down behind my pubic bone at this gestational age??

Also, what is the old wives tale about fetal heart rates :)

Pointless post really but going to have the biggest smile ever on my face all night now, can not get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awwww how cute! Yes I think its right to be v low as I was told by my mw baby doesnt pop out of your pelvis until 16weeks x

Mine is still very low down.
And hers was 160bpm too.

The old wives tale is supposed to be a higher heart rate for a girl but I'm not sure how true it is (although it was true for me)
I think anything over 145bpm is most likely a girl but don't quote me on that x

I hope it is right, it didn't sound the same as it did with AJ either, AJs sounded more like a whoosing train noise where as this is like a fast galloping horse xx

I was always told a girls hb is faster. My friend who had a boy was always around 140bpm, but I am having a girl and its usually over 150bpm.
Another friend told me the heartbeat tale only applies when in labour xx

Aw its so reassuring hun :D we had scan today and we having a girl :) hb was 144bpm, but last time was 165bpm, so dunno, sorry x x

my LO heartrate has been about 140 all throughtout x
