Tax and SMP?

Hi ladies

I'm wondering if anyone can advise on whether you pay tax on SMP and also as I have a company car, whether I would pay company car tax too?

I've seen conflicting information online about income tax being payable and can find no information at all about whether you pay company car tax, so thought I'd ask you ladies as you've obviously had first hand experience!

I'm pretty sure you don't pay tax on SMP but not sure about a company car. God smp isn't exactly much, not sure how we would pay tax on it too! I know you can't get taxed if income is less than £6470 per annum. X

Not sure hun - why dont you ring the inland revenue or cant your payroll/HR dept tell you? xxx

You don't pay tax on your SMP but I'm not sure on your car tax situation, your employer or pay roll would be able to answer your question.
