Tattoos

Following on from the piercing thread (I've only got my ears done ) I'm wondering who's had a tattoo, what did you have done where and did it hurt?

I'd love to have DH's name and baby's name written somewhere (thinking on the side of my foot) and wondered if anyone might hazard a guess as to cost and pain factors?

I have three tattoos, one on each arm and one on my shoulder blade.

I can imagine it would hurt a bit if you had them on your feet, i do know people who have had them on there feet and they said it made theyre eyes water.

i have four tattoos -

1. on my shoulder, its a chinese symbol meaning 'love' had that done when i was 16!
2. on the bottom of my back, its a tribal design, love it!! had that done when i was 16.
3. Sheffield Wednesday FC owl on my stomach, had that done when i was 17!
4. my DF's name in a private area, had that dont when i was 17!

they all bloody hurt i can tell ya, but the worst one was the one on my back, i have never EVER experienced pain like it in my life, i was sick in the tatoo parlour and had to go back 3 times as i was screaming and swearing in pain!!! the tattoo man will not do me a tattoo agian he said LOL its right funny they all know me now and take the mik

also, i think small tattoos look lovley on the foot although i can imagine that hurts more than your back - so wouldnt even go there LOL - i have said i would like a small tribal/flower design on my foot - but im too scared now lol

on on my chest, a butterfly
on on my stomache/hip - a heart with wings
and thumper on my ankel.

id love a tinkerbell one, really temped to get one while i was in america. its alot cheaper there for them

I want to get one/two with the boys names but nothing cheesy so I'm stuck.

I have a small ladybird on my right shoulder - shaman symbolism of a ladybird is a message to follow your own path and not be swept away by sheep, thats why I had it done cos im a rebel lol and didnt want anything too big. Yep im well'ard

As for the pain thing, as a general rule anywhere where the skin is close to the bone will hurt more than somewhere with a lot of fat or muscle inbetween.

I want a little loveheart with OH's initials in it just on my bikini line.

I didnt find that to be true when i had mine. I thought mine hurt more on the fleshy bit of my arm than the boney part of my shoulder.

I've got 3. One on the top of each thigh (16 ) and a Chinese symbol, meaning strength on my back (21). One of the ones on my thigh is a V shaped into a rose. It was my boyfriend at the times initial, we had been together for 3 years and I really thought I would end up with him. Luckily the tattooist convinced me NOT to just have his initial, but have something easily changeable as I would be back in a few years to change it Of course he was right!
As far as pain is concerned, Nicola Hun, you're going to give birth in 190 days

princess as long as you take one of your parents with you, you can have them done before your 18, i had all 4 of mine between the age of 16 and 17 - the last two i got at 17 and only when with DF.



this one will make you laugh - DF's brother (hes a total loser and thinks hes one of this big 'ard lads wearing 'trackies' and jewlery and caps etc) and he went and got two tattoos when he was about 16 - got one on his hand saying M.O.G - well i always wondered what it meant and DF told me last week - it means Money Over Girls - HOW PATHETIC??

I know silly to be 'scared' about an inking needle when I've got labour to face but I know somehow I'll deal with it, every woman does but tattoos is kinda "optional" if you know what I mean - hehe you did make me laugh with that comment though

I don't have any tattoos of my own, but I have designed them for 3 of my best friends and my husband.

They all love them and so do I!! I'm building up a little portfolio!!

Mostly I take people's initials, or other combinations of letters that mean something to them and then design the tattoo in such a way that it's not obvious that it's actually letters, it just looks like a design or a pattern.

My hubbies is my favorite, he's african and it looks really tribal but it's actually his initials.
