taking femera without scans

Hi Ladies, in need of some advice, suffer with pcos and dont ovulate naturally. Had Gonal F injections to conceive my DS back in 2011. Conceived naturally in Dec 2012 to our suprise but unfortunatley had mmc in Jan. Testing showed I had stopped ovulating again and dr decided to try me on 7 x femera tabs on day 3 which thankfully worked and after 3 months got BFP however unfortunately missed again in Oct. So now im eager to get back on the ttc train again. Got af today and have prescription for the femera however with the xmas season upon us it's highly unlikely I'll be able to get my usual scans. Left a message for dr today however missed the call back and am unable to contact since. So after that long essay my question is should i take the femera on sunday or not, really cant face the thoughts of waitin till next cycle which might not be for another 2 months???

Is femara like clomid? I think if you have taken it before an responded well you shouldn't need to be scanned again? I am on my second cycle of clomid and the hospital said they didn't need to scan me for the second cycle as they were happy with how the first had gone (apart from bfn obviously!)

Can you call them up to check? Fx for you, sounds like you deserve some good luck coming your way xx

hi londongirl, thanks for the reply, for some reason i never got a notification so only seeing it now. Chlomid didnt work at all for me but this seemed to make me ovulate before so fingers crossed. I think they only scan me so they can pinpoint ovulation, i would then take the HCG injection to release the egg and then dtd. My body doesnt like to work the same way each month and i found i ovulated early sometimes and could be on day 21 the next month so the scans helped with that. I also have to take progesterone after ovulation so that also was a help. Anyways decided to just take it and watch for signs and hope that luck is on my side. Sending some 'babydust' your way too, hopefully santa will be good to us this year

Hi Hope, I didn't get scanned on my first month of clomid as my local hospital can't afford to scan everyone however the first cycle didn't work and I will be scanned on cd12 on this cycle. cd12 falls on a weekend so I guess it still wont be right!
