sweep on xmas blimmen eve!

got a sweepy booked for 10 30 this morning (weds) and am a bit nervous as middy said it tends to hurt more for ladies with first babies! I'm also only 5 days overdue and i'm wondering if i should even be bothering with it, mw seemed keen though so i agreed, but somehow it doesn't seem natural or right to be mucking around up there now!!!

I don't know but wish me luck, hope it doesn't hurt too blimmen much

OH says mws just love doing things like this!! She seemed so keen i wouldn't be suprised!! hehe he!

Edit - no idea why i am up this late, just didnt feel sleepy!!

Ooooooh. You could have an Xmas baby.... I had sweep done at 2pm, was in hosp at 2.30 with contractions 5 mins apart!!
George was born at 9.38 that very night!!!
It doesn't hurt at all.... try to relax, breathe deeply and imagine you are somewhere else. I did this and didn't feel a thing!!! GOOD LUCK!!

I'm a bit excited now!!! had sweep this morning and it hurt a bit but not disastrously! Mw says im 1.5cm dilated already anyway and cervix is all ready for labour to start any minute!!! so i know its not going to be long at all now and i'm really, really excited!!!!

OH made me laugh as while we were at clinic he spotted some old doors in a skip and wanted the handles off them - he has now gone back with a screwdriver! He's mad! If he gets caught its his own fault! Still, gives me a bit of space to hug mself and get all excited!!!

it doesn't hurt that bad! zach's my first & i had a sweep term+6, it just sort of feels like when a willy goes in too far, haha.
for me, the pain only lasted as long as she was doing it, i didn't have any afterwards (mind you, mine did fail!)
