Swaddling

Hi ladies have or are any of you swaddling? I want to try to swaddle child number 2 , I didn't with child 1 but would like to try. I'm not really sure where to start. Would you prefer to use large muslins or a swaddle wrap like swaddle me or both ?

Any advice would be appreciate.

I use a extra large cellular shawl. You could use a muslin or any other large cotton shawl/sheet. Check on youtube for videos for swaddling the correct way. Babies can easily wriggle their way out of a swaddled sheet if not done correctly.

I tried, we used a cellular blanket or a muslin as the hospital showed us how with these. My baby hated not being able to move his arms though so I gave up fairly soon.

We didn't intend on swaddling but lo's startle reflex was so strong he just couldn't stay asleep for any length of time, so someone recommended this, which was an absolute life saver! Boots used to sell them but it doesn't look like you can get them anymore, although you can get something similar, including ones with loser arms if preferred by lo! It makes swaddling so easy and lo can't wriggle out!

I think it depends on the baby. Our 1st hated it our 3rd loved it.

Tbh non of my babies liked been swaddled, The peanut swaddler what unicorn linked is similar to one i used with my 2nd baby. My current baby hated been swaddled also in the first weeks and would cry and struggle everytime i swaddled him. Now hes 3.5month and doesnt mind been swaddled or unswaddled. Ive been swaddling him since he was about 10 weeks. So not long really.

I used the summer swaddles as it has Velcro. I couldn't get to grips with doing it my self. My daughter loved them x

I've bought 2 of those also bought large muslins too which I can use for loads of other things if baby doesn't like being swaddled
