Thanks guys, my firend is booked in for a section in about 2 weeks so I'm hoping that she'll start on her own before then :)

Fingers crossed for her x

Fly, i feel just the same as you. I did loads of research and reading and knew that i was making the right decision for me. I've opted for a home birth this time as i felt so out of control last time in hospital. We saw a senior midwife at our 20 week scan who tried for 1 and a half hours to talk us into going into hospital and even lied about statistics to try and scare us. After that i refused to see the consultant and have only seen midwives who totally support us, which is what we need. Good luck with your VBAC. I, like you, feel really positive that i WILL do it this time round.

Paradysso, thanks for your great VBAC story. Its made me feel even better about my decision to have this baby as naturally as i can. My section was for the same reasons as yours, failed induction at almost 42 weeks, back to back baby who wouldn't budge, and ending in emergency section under general anaesthetic because of a failed spinal. Its really great to hear that you had such a short labour and only with gas and air, and to know that it can be done after what happened last time. Just need baby to put in an appearance now :D

good luck fly!

My friend's due date is the 31st but because they won't let her go overdue she has a section booked on the 29th.
We're all hoping she starts naturally before then.
I guess your due date is around then too?
Thanks honey  yes am due exactley then. Really hope everything happens for your friend before then   x x x

Loads of luck to you too Di  x x x

I had an emergency c-section as my daughter was getting distressed and had turned slightly after a 36 hour labour.

However, with my second, my son decided to come into the world 5 weeks early. Although I wasn't as mentally focused as I was with my daughter, I did manage to have a natural birth without pain relief (I just got the cut). Thankfully, labour was only 4 1/2 hours.

My recovery for both was very good, after the c-section I was walking pretty good. After the natural it seemed like a long time before I could sit down comfortably

I hope this helps.

good luck ladies, I really hope you all get VBAC's!!!! now i know i CAN do it all by myself we plan on a home birth this time, which is a huge decision as the hospital is 40 - 60 mins away :? but if i can do it with only gas and air in a hospital im really confident i can do it at home. I just hope my labour isnt even quicker this time :rotfl: it was a bit too quick, i didnt feel mentally ready to push

My friend did it!!
There was hardly any talk in the hospital of it being a VBAC. I was expecting them to be more worried about it.
She had to have extra monitoring, and they asked her once if her scar was hurting, but it wasn't.
She is SO HAPPY that she managed it, she had an episiotomy but is recovering well and feels so much better than after her section last time. :)

  say congrats to her Urchin!!! she must be totally chuffed, i still have a smile from ear to ear when i think about delivering Harriet. I just cant wait to do it again :shhh:

My first was emergency c section due to him being breech. My second was natural (Too late to give me the dam drugs  ) was only in labour for 55min. Great birth (except the third degree tare which I didn't feel) So I Prefered the natural birth.
