I was wondering if I am the only lady stressed about my financial situation, I have just bought a house and have a car on finance then 2 weeks after all this I found out I was pregnant!!! I feel like I am never goung to survive as both me and my partner already have loans combined 300 a month to pay back!

I feel like I should be happy and all I seem to be doing lately is crying about my finances, honest to god I feel terrible  and dont know what to do

x

Your not alone Lillyblue

We couldn't pay all our bills and survive if my Bf's mum didn't help us out each month, plus we get maintenance from my EX which we couldn't live without PLUS my bf is being made redundant when the baby is due! Great isn't it? NOT :wall:

The only advice I have is try and cut back on anything you can, eg. gym memberships, energy suppliers (we not done this yet but will be comparing costs online to find a cheaper supplier), and any other non essential outgoings. I tend to buy a lot of the cheap food brands, like asda smartprice and tesco value stuff and you'd be amased how much you can save.

Its a bit sh!t innit? AND its CHRISTMAS!

I'm not sure I really helped you ease your worries really because I had a rant but  anyway x

Its nice to know someone else is going through the same thing... I am much appreciative of you posting back to me!!!

I am going to look at my bills etc this month as I am am still getting used to them with this being my forst house, I just hopeI can survive whenI come back to work!!! I will have to start ecomismising like you advised though its the only way forward!!1

I just feel like it isnt good for baby as I am always so worked up about it but thanks again darling

and I hope you will be ok

xxxx

It does take time to balance finances when its your first house but once you get to know how much you have 'spare' if any each month things do settle. Good luck and I just had to reply because I know how it feels

We are going through the same thing but are trying to sort a few things where we can.. Here are some of the things we are doing, might help:

Ebay anything you dont really need
If you have credit cards put them all onto one interest free card. We found somewhere doing 6 months interest free inc balance transfers so applying to put everything there so we can pay off instead of paying just interest
Once you have paid min 6 months on mortgage you may be able to take 6 month holiday on payments if you ask, or ask about changing to interest only if not already
Energy bills - change to those offering new intro deals etc
Put all loans into one place and shop about for low rates
Just because things are hard, that isnt as excuse for employers to freeze pay rises if they are due, always worth asking.
Go through bank statements and food bills and really look for places you can cut back.

Is horrbible having to worry about money, but you can only do what you can. Hope things work out for you

Awh thanks ladies its always lovely to know people have been or are going through the same as you!

Thats a good idea about my mortgage payments I didnt even think about that you know!!!! Thank you!!!

I hope I will be ok because I am so upset in work and cant get my mind off money money money!!!!

xx

You're certainly not alone in worrying about finances. I think we're going to have to have a chat with the bank and see what we can arrange with our mortgage. We might have to increase the number of years remaining on our mortgage to bring our payments down as we won't be able to affort our current repayments as well as childcare. It's stressful but people always say that there's never a perfect time to have a baby so i thought now was as good a time as any. We can't let the credit crunch stop us!!!

We were in terrible financial trouble last year...when my hubby was in charge of the finances, he was waaaaaay over spending and we were living out of our overdraft!

I took over all the money and cut back on everything and now the same time this year we are managing ok, we are not rich but affording the things we need to afford!

My advice is make a list of your incomings and outgoings and see what you can cut back on, and I mean really cut back. It might be a bit shit for a few months but you will get there!!
