straps on high-chair

how to clean them? theyre attatched to the chair and wont come off. millie likes to chew them, often while she has a mouthful of food!
they are covered in stains. im not TOO bothered about how they look, but want them to be clean, they must be full of bacteria etc coz its food on there, then she puts them in her mouth again
what can i do?

Before I realised the straps came off ours I used an old toothbrush and hot water to scrub at them! It still left stains but got the worst of it off!
